    It's sunny here.

    And not windy.

When I've finished my coffee I'm heading out. :D

Weather's taking the piss. i leave the house, sunny, glorious, it waits until I'm 15m in, just before I start heading back, and then absolutely pours.

    Thanks weather.

Anyway, 32m, ave 17.3mph. Happy enough with that.

Oh and I love my maxima. Love it love it love it. Glad I waited until I'd got some semblance of fitness back before riding it again. :D

Careful LiTs you know carbon melts in rain
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.
  • You know the way they say one offroad mile is about the same effort as more than 2 on road, well can I triple my daily mileage for riding this:

    On these?

Cant wait til I have the XC bike back on the go for this route and I will be looping it home rather than getting picked up at the end :D

Blasted PF made an unwelcome return today, 3½ months since our last encounter. To make up for the time since we last met, in 25 miles I was treated to no less than 5 separate unscheduled deflations on the family bimble (father & elder child only no conferring please).

I'll tell you what, nice road bikes and cycle paths & canal-side paths don't mix. Still - I've finally made the 1000 mile club, only a few short months since the rest of you buggers led the way. Summer is gonna be tough this year...

    how pleased am I

managed to do 108 miles today :)

Rode to malvern from birmingham, had a light lunch and headed back. Person I rode there with got the train back but I wanted my century so set back on my own. Some lovely scenery, but the hill up to st annes cafe is just ridculous. ride back was much faster due to me being on my own, but looks like all training has paid off cos I wasnt dying anywhere on route, just had cliff bar, gel, nuts and drinks. Oh and cake in malvern of course

Puts me upto 17th in table, makes it all even more pleasing

although think bearings knackered in back wheel, might have to go lbs tomorrow to get it sorted out

Missing the Magnifica at the moment, but I'm still getting the mileage in (maintaining 100 miles a week plus). When I get the Viner back I'll definitely feel the benefit... Might end up doing the New Forest Sportive on one of the Dahons. Might annoy a few snotty roadies if nothing else :)

I tried to add myself to the Married with Kids mini league and managed to delete everyone else out of the league. I "cleared all selections" then slected my box and "added selected users". I assumed it would just add me, and not also remove everyone else who I'd unselected.

Sorry - I guess those who were in that mini-league will need to add themselves back unless there's a backup somewhere.

April's a bad month for me. Too many long weekends away!
Still, managed to sneak in a 36 miler on Sunday.
Now I can change my brake blocks tonight, and start commuting again.
Hopefully will manage a nice long ride at the weekend too, but it's going to be tough to catch up now.

<clutches stomach with both hands whilst laughing out loud...> Smart move EP. :)

There is a nightly backup but to roll it on would overwrite any updates since, so it's only really useful as a OMG option (like when I apply some updates and get it wrong in a big way; hasn't happened yet tho).

No worries. I've added m'self back to the MWK mini-league, and I'm now top. Suits me.

Go for it! There was a bloke on the Evans Lakes sportive last year doing it on a folder. Certainly took it up Wrynose! He said he'd bought it for touring abroad to save hassle in transporting a full size bike!

lol, your not. We all like to gloat

I was actually thinking I couldnt wait to get back and put it on the forum. My biggest distance before was 64 miles and I was dead after that, 3 months of good training since and half a stone lighter I felt great yesterday. Im itching to go out today, even if its only to add some more miles to the total and take my bike to the lbs to get my stupid bearings sorted

Thanks, felt even better that the person I went with got the train back, but i wasnt going to give up the chance of my century

I managed 4 miles over the whole weekend. 8)

My legs no longer ache. In fact I commuted into work at somewhere between 17 and 20 mph nearly the whole way. Strangely, the journey still seemed to take an hour and ten minutes - maybe I should take up RLJing.

I have just booked the train for a week in Devon at the start of May. Between the 4th and 12th of May I'm hoping to do around 500 miles or therabouts. Depends on the weather I guess.

So I've got the week off; wicked, scoot up to RP in the afternoon, do a few quiet laps and then back home!

Except that I'm waiting for a delivery and it's not here yet and if I do go out I've got to be back for 5, grrrrrrr. There is always tomorrow, but that won't get me today's miles back will it.

Looks like my weekly target is going to be slightly broken as well as the monthly target. Currently 83% of weekly with 5 days to go and 48% of monthly with 24 days remaining, who knows I might join the 1K club by the end of the month
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I just put in my stats for the day, how tempted am I to go out and do 2.7 miles just to jump a place.

Day off the bike tomorrow, but hopefully about 40 miles on thursday

only 800 miles from the top :)

I would go with a month before you or I get into the top 75. There is a big gap to bridge to before passing redvee.

Having day off today as I have yet to learn to pottle so expecting you to close the gap a little. Will be back on it for the remaining 2 days this week.

Not necessarily - I cough blood from time to time. Doctor has never seemed particularly concerned - just one of the symptoms of having bad sinus problems.
