Defo, I reckon I can get in 2 laps pre commute (so an hour total inc getting there and back) - I have to go home afterwards and swap bikes etc, but live in Wandsworth so it's on the way.

Really? Being a bit of a wuss, I'm gonna wait till it's a bit warmer.

I'm a bit worried they may pose a leg-shaving dilemma

Spot on. We dress up in the skins of small land animals, don't shave and wield axes. You need to ride around for a week dressed like that before you can join.*

Just out doing the non commute thing and making sure I got the full brunt of the hail storm, which I did :? and came across this fellow, it's not often you see a badger upsidedown in a bush.

erm DONT click on this link if you have a weak stomach or you're a raving lefty tofu eating hippy, you've been WARNED.

I had to do a double take as I whizzed past it on Monday night in the rain

I thought badgers are meant to be rare? they bleeding everywhere around here, usually taking a nap by the side of the road, pretty danagerous that

I've been ill. though I kept going to work I have had time off cycling. all in all March was not good for me - I'm down 200 miles at least from where I should be.

My plan is to do 30 miles every day this month, and then some. The only thing that can let me down would be the weather or my knees.

Is that how you yokels spend a Friday night  Or does that account for your mileage, trying to find enough badgers to sniff

just started snowing in birmingham, and headwinds to 35 mph on the way back. Missed lunch today, I can't actually face 19.1 miles into a headwind of snow on an empty tank after 100 miles in the last 2.5 days. Those stats don't compute for me, no matter how much MTFU you add to the equation...

Did you ride back in the end? I went for it with a slightly amended route for more bus lanes and less trucks. I don't know how far it was I collapsed when I got home it was absolutely mental wind. At one point I was in the drops out of the saddle sprinting at... 12MPH!!!

nope, it was 9pm by the time I left work, which on an apple, banana and nurti grain all day since breakfast (worked through lunch) meant I didn't have enough in the tank to fight that headwind. The train was quite cheap at that time of night though!
  • There are 3 badgers and two cats having naps on the side of the road on my commute this last week... one of the cats is in a bad way though, with the snow and rain we've suffered he has got very skinny and most of him has washed away.

Surely this is enough to warrant my entry into the rural mini league i think...

winds were terrible today in birmingham, You cycle in the end as didnt look like snow lasted long

924 miles for the month, hopefully hit 1k next month

924 ??? Nooooooooooooo!!!! get out there, use the tailwind it's within your grasp

After 50 miles into stupid wind which at times I felt like i was going backwards and a visit from the fairy im quite positively broken. Gutted as had 100 miles planned for saturday, but dont fancy it in terrential rain, I know I should MTFU but I wanted to enjoy the ride, not hate it

hoping they have got the weather forecast wrong for saturday, but knowing my luck they havent :(

+1 to that. Well done CJ.

I've got a new rule about cycling in wind and rain. And that is not at all if at all possible. My chest infection has now spread to my ears and i reckon the toothache is somehow connected. Everytime i go out in the rain for too long it takes me several hours before i can breathe properly. SCS isn't worth dying over.

Boy it was grim out there this morning! In hindsight I should have stayed in bed!

Managed 25 or so miles but eventually had to bail as everything was drenched and I was soooo cold. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. :)

Weather's taking the piss. i leave the house, sunny, glorious, it waits until I'm 15m in, just before I start heading back, and then absolutely pours.

    Thanks weather.

Anyway, 32m, ave 17.3mph. Happy enough with that.

Oh and I love my maxima. Love it love it love it. Glad I waited until I'd got some semblance of fitness back before riding it again. :D
