Sounds like a plan. You take the first stint and I'll come through when you get tired.

Hawk schmawk. 24 miles a day won't cut it, but when he starts his weekend rides and does the transalp, then he'll be a force to be reckoned with! I want to know if you can carry on at 34 miles a day, every day Asprilla, I know I couldn't without health problems, but your route might be flatter than mine

In all seriousness, life is getting in the way of SCS. My mileage last year averaged at 400ish, and I'm currently down at 350. So try not to push me in a ditch as you fly past.

You've got some clear air behind you at the moment. Although if you keep turning in 350mile months I'll probably reel you in eventually. Mind you that's assuming my life doesn't get in the way.

I at least won't push you in the ditch, its not worth it for 42nd place. Top 10 maybe :)

After checking my finances looks like I've got myself a budget for a new bike 8)

So I'll be checking out the options rest of this week - looking to buy at the weekend. nothing flash mind you; just a sturdy and reliable workhorse to get me to work and back.

If I get my bonus next month then I'll be looking for a weekend bike.

The broken one will do for spare parts for the forseeable future.

Porgy; I was going to encourage you take more time off whilst I reel you in, but looking at the Cuml Gap col I'm 950 miles down. Cobblers to that.

Reckon my only chance of progressing up the table is to either fiddle my figures [no way] or sell the kids on Ebay so I don't have to take them to school twice a week. Now that sounds feasible.

after having put my ride in this morning if I realised I was so close to the metric challenge I'd have found a little loop to do... oh well it can wait

    Hooray! Top 50 8)

 to rounding errors though. I'm only 0.1behind the next man

However, I have got the bike actually in the office with me today, so maybe I'll ride to the coffee room and make up another place

    Pathetic? That's quality that is.
  • Very wet and very windy this morning.
Luckily for me I put my mud guards on the other day, and found my old waterproof trousers... and the wind was a 20mph tail wind. Whoohoo! Its to die off by home time too.

That must be some sort of reward for facing it this morning :P

Yup, it's a journey by bike to somewhere else so counts.

I'm about to cycle to the project office just down the corridor with a made-up query about nothing important. Wish me luck as I go through HR.

My position at no.4 is looking vulnerable! :(

Only commuting miles this week due to illness - it's just not enough...

I have a day off tomorrow but have been banned from riding (not that it would be a good idea with a chest infection) - I am on 'good hubby' duty all day including a morning of wallpapering and an afternoon at the infants school being 5 again! :D

Ok, so I jsut have to add 2 miles to my commute and the gap will be maintained?

    Why didn't you say so?

Well, any chance of me making an unannounced late arrival by putting all my commuting miles this year onto the system at once have been well and truly scuppered.
My stupid computer reset itsellf while in my bag today. So now I've done 0 miles. All year.

    :-(

(no, I didn't keep any track of my mileage as I went along, at least not off the commuter. But I'm off now to backup my laptop in case this electronic amnesia is catching)
