thought here would be a good place to ask, does anyone have any experience of the X'snipe B'twin 300 camera from Decathlon?

Interactivity : Films directly onto SD card (not included, 4Gb max).
    Accuracy / precision : 30 images/second, VGA resolution (640*480).

    thanks

Looks very much like the ATC2K. Have a read online for reviews of this camera. I had one in the past and was happy with the results but have since progressed onto a £7 Ebay special and now reached the top notch camera with a ContourHD1080.

cheers redvee, you saying the £7 ebay chinese import jobby was an upgrade from the ATC2K?

My MiniDV eBay special is much better able to deal with light than my ATC5K but its not waterproof. For £7 (I paid £12 I think) the quality is much better too!

IMHO it was. Bigger resoltion and smaller camera plus easier to recharge etc till you overcharge it
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Here's my entire 18 mile commute compressed into just under 10 minutes with a running tally of the number of traffic lights i pass through on the way.

Wanna guess how many sets? I bet you are wrong...

I got massively cut up by a bus this morning; had to bunny hop onto the pavement or he would have driven me into the curb. So there's me shouting the reg number so I can youtube his ass, get to work to find out that my cam cut out after 7 mins due to me forgetting to turn it off after I charged it yesterday

Someone in another thread said they don't like the videos with cyclists just showing bad driving. I think that is a limited view - from reviewing this video I realised that I could in future watch out for the scenario that caused this squeeze (the car approaching the other way.) I have managed to gain good take-away knowledge from all of my captured close moments so far.

    http://vimeo.com/17136901

On the other hand - he shouldn't have started an overtake here - the thud at the end is me trying to make him aware of my presence.

(Also, look at how bad the road surface is)

Those MD80 cams really don't like low light do they :P I've got a couple of clips from last nights ride home:

This guy just walked straight out into the road, didn't even look, I had to swerve around him - doesn't look too bad from the clip though - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YcYuPhErHs

The woman of this car looked straight at me and pulled out into my path, I had to brake considerably, didn't get the plate though - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3osMmVFSJw

Please excuse the language on both

You need a class 6 card for the camera, this will give you a smoother image as class 6 can process data faster.

Yeah I've got a class 6 card for it. The quality is good in day light, but terrible when it's dark. I'm now mounting the cam on my bars to avoid the side-to-side motion. Great cam for £7, just bad low light quality.

    Why the "FFS" ?

    The taxi is indicating.

The cyclist should at least proceed with caution.
  • Yes, if you indicate it's ok to drive at vulnerable road users. If he wasn't indicating it would be wrong, but he's indicating so it's ok.

Yes the cyclist could have been a bit more aware, but the taxi pulls left into the bike lane (where the cyclist was trying to cycle) then quite late starts indicating right and turning right. Not a great maneuver but something we've become resigned to in London.

Some 4x4 trying to take me out in the rain on the way home tonight. This was after I had been sat at a set of lights in front of hime for nearly 2 minutes with 4 lights on the back of the bike/myself.

Strikes me as pretty poor riding. Going down the left of traffic you see a car pulling out of a side street. Chances are if there's a car going into the side street it'll turn in at the same time which is exactly what happened. Then the u-turning cab had started turning when Mr BB went to go round it. Another second or so he could have nipped round the left hand side.

You would need to take into account being startled by the first taxi.

The first incident (right turn across cyclist's path) was just bad observation by the taxi but the second was more ambiguous IMO. I would never overtake a vehicle indicating right. Not saying the cabbie was in the right, but he would probably expect other drivers to wait for him to make the turn. The problem is, cyclists do not like to lose momentum. Much harder for them to get back up to speed. But that's city cycling for you.

The second cabbie's biggest "mistake" was to carry on turning right even after he had seen the cyclist(s) on his right. It looks like he did this on purpose to make a point. Aggressive driving. Naughty.

Not sure that was aggressive driving, looks like neither were sure if the opposite was going to yield.

Taxi pulls out on me on a roundabout and when confronted/discussed he says I could have gone another way off the roundabout.

    Another Ford driver v Redvee

She overtakes and then pulls back in. She mouths something through the closed window before driving off to the next set of lights.

Not a great bit of driving but why the finger pointing?

No pointing, was knocking on the window. Entirely non confrontational from myself.
