I can't even think what was going through this cyclist's head. Still, at least he apologised

Also includes a chance meeting with Boris Johnson (at about 4:30) - we had a chat about cycling in London, but his audio wasn't really captured by the camera, so I just faded the song back up again.
(For anyone interested, the 'camera' here is actually an iPod Nano with a homemade head / bike mount)
From 1.15 onwards was my old commute I did for 8 years! You go past my house!
It's a lovely ride in.0 -

I'm quit impressed with the quality! I have a Nano, could you share how you mounted it?
Sorry for the slow response - haven't checked this thread in a while! I originally made a strap to hold the iPod on to the front of a ski helmet - used some 2 inch wide elastic stitched a double layer at the front so there was a pouch for the iPod, and cut a little hole for the camera. I put an adjustable buckle on it too so it could be tightened up.
It worked pretty well as a headcam, though it was almost more effective as a 'kneecam' - see some footage here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BivBmCD6 ... re=channel (skip to about 3 min in to avoid all the faffing about!)
But then I realised I could also put the nano in the strap pouch and use the elastic to lash it around the join of the stem and the handlebars of the bike. It seems to work well, and being in the middle of the bars it gives a reasonably smooth picture.0 -

Sheesh...I wouldn't have passed either. Nice view.
Well, she was going quite fast, and the towpath is quite narrow in places......... :oops:0 -

Today, black Nissan swerving in front of me:

Yesterday, an example of something I've noticed happening quite often. Anyone else been getting the same thing on a regular basis?

I get that as well sometimes - I presume it's people curious about the camera stuck on the top/front of my cycle helmet0 -
It might be just curiosity but the look on their faces is often quite, well... I dunno... Let's just say it looks (and I appreciate you can't always tell much from one facial expression but this happens to me every week) almost like they're affronted by my filming.
As if it's somehow more unpalatable to them than any other CCTV filming taking place.
I could be imagining it but like I say it happens quite often to me now.0 -

A few days a week I commute across town rather than into the city - the drivers seem a lot less aware of cyclists on this route.0 -

I first look round at 00:28 but you don't see what falls off. However, you do see a rock rolling forwards at 00:31 that's also just fallen off0 -

So I was correct then. :-)
Anyway Im not looking for an argument with you MadammeMarie. I just don't like comments about keying doors or d-locking people or any physical violence. Maybe it was said in jest and maybe i overreacted. Sorry0 -

Fire off a complaint to the company but expect the standard corporate reply, something along the lines of "we treat all incidentd very seriously and thank you for bringing it to our attention. We shall investigate the case with due course and take the appropriate action where neccessary" I had the same when I fired a complaint into DHL with the youtube link and predicted the script of the phonecall as the girl called me to update me on my complaint.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

Is that in London? If so, I'd send a complaint to the met too.

well, it was recorded in HD but I reduced the size for the processing, also buggered something up which resulted in the black frame ;-)
standard def would be in a 4:3 aspect ratio, wouldn't it?Origamist wrote:SitoUK wrote:
