I'm not sure whether they really warrant it or not. Can't make my mind up.
2nd one, did you indicate before you pulled out?0 -
Nope, but unless he thought I was just going to ride into the back of the car I'm not sure it's strictly necessary... Well, I know it isn't, since indicating on a bike is never actually a requirement as they can't force you to remove your hands from the vehicle's control surfaces due to safety reasons.0

Just got my new Mini DV80 knock off cam, and am wondering, where to mount it?
Handlebars? Helmet?
Also, how?
I had a big square white Busbi-Handi cam before, already I can see the quality increase! If I can manage to mount it, hopefully some cam footage tommorow!0 -
I use an Electron O/S lamp bracket from CRC which can be used on std and o/s bars and a couple of cable ties to hold it all in place. The camera lives on the bracket and gets plugged into the PC as is. Look through some of my posts here for a pic.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Pedestrian walks out between two buses and gets knocked by a moped. Then she panics and runs into the side of a bus.
It's a bit hard to see the accident but you can clearly see the women appear between the buses on the left and run into the bus afterwards. She was very lucky not least that the moped driver was riding so slowly.

Tell you what... I'm loving the fact that the police (RoadSafe London) are now sending people the links to the videos when they issue the warning letters.
It's so easy to tell who they are on the YouTube comments.
You get home from work and post the video a bit later on. You guys will typically leave comments the same evening or the day afterwards, then it goes quiet for about a week and then you get one comment from a YouTube account that hasn't been used for years (or is newly-registered) which is usually a stupid one-liner in favour of the driver.
My stock response:I'm guessing you're the driver of the car and you've just received your letter from the police and decided to dredge up an old YouTube account you hadn't used for ages in order to comment. Hello.
Not had a reply yet0 -
Very amusing, Jamey!!0

Not sure I'd be brave enough to be out on the busy streets of London with two kids on a tandem triplet, but they seemed happy enough and the kids at the back aren't slacking off (which is what I would've done when I was a kid)

Since we're getting in the World Cup mood...

See, I disagree with this. Having the England flag on your car/window/whatever cannot mean you are a casual racist or a simpleton. That really annoys me and I'm not even English.
I have the flag of my country attached to the rack of my bike. And I'm not either a racist or a simpleton. I enjoy the World Cup - especially as my lot won 3-0 the other day - and love seeing all those flags everywhere! :-)0 -

Work and back (10 miles) in 2 minutes 43 seconds. No incidents*, accidents, SMIDSYs, or anything, just a nice ride through Lancaster in the sun.
* well a couple of minor ones, such as a woman blocking the bike lane, and another who passed me too closely and then hit the brakes...0 -
Some speeded up footage of my commute from east in to central London, part of it through Victoria Park and along the Regent's Canal.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU7JXX45pOw
Also includes a chance meeting with Boris Johnson (at about 4:30) - we had a chat about cycling in London, but his audio wasn't really captured by the camera, so I just faded the song back up again.
(For anyone interested, the 'camera' here is actually an iPod Nano with a homemade head / bike mount)0 -

The "long", scenic route home. Still only 11 miles (compared to 5), so there's plenty of scope for a real long way home.
The video's in a stupid little area in the middle of the frame because I haven't worked out how to deal with the fact that my camera records 640x480, while the overlay generator is producing 1280x720 video.0 -
