good ride out today on black hambleton/arden moor.....only part that was a let down was from locker low wood up locker bank back to arden moor....they are replacing the path due to the bad weather, and its a bit of a bog fest at mo,only thing to do was to laugh and joke about who had the best tyres on the way up...........got to the top to find one of the bikes had chain suck, then 10 mins riding later a puncture on same bike, then 15 mins later anouther puncture on a diff bike...still had a smile on our faces at the end tho :)

Looking at doing this route over the weekend if anyone is interested in joining up.

Don't know what day yet though, as it depends what weather site you look at, it could be raining either day. So, would be last minute thing on deciding which day.

Its some of the route we did last weekend, without the dodgy and very muddy climb our kid mentioned.

Like the look of this. What's the rest of the ride like?I'm just wondering if it's worth the drive from Sheffield/Warrington and Blackburn :?

There are a couple of rides we have done around the area, always taking in Black Hambleton. Starts off rocky then gets fast and smooth.

Good routes, but to get the decent DHs in you have to do abit of road in between. I would say they are worth coming over for, just don't expect anything like the Peaks

If you have a look at the routes posted above and on the last page, it should give you a good insight of what's on offer on Arden Moor, Black Hambleton and Boltby Forest.

Why don't you join up this weekend?

my hand is up for the arden moor/boltby loop, fair enough its got a bit more road riding in it then we normally do,but hopefully the downhill we found last weekend will be worth it.

Pete.... Looks like it could be the Arden Moor loop, we normally start around 10am. The meeting point this week will be somewhere in Boltby, post proper details later this week.

Stu.... Think the Gt needs some real test out in the Moors or Dales mate, get that time off sorted.

Ibbo.... Shame about the work, let us know if you fancy a route over here sometime. I'm sure we will be in the Peaks, just as soon as the trails dry up abit. Can't do the Ladybower ride without doing WLT downhill.....

Pete... We ain't started from Boltby before, so your guess is as good as ours...

If there ain't any obvious car parking then I think we will just stick it on the main through route
