yeah I'll join you for that.
  • stu, i would look to superstar for pads as all our suppliers have sent fibrax (who make pretty much all pads) packing, due to them selling to customers direct. i have had to order a few from them this week.

i should be out and about in a couple of weeks, the new build is just about ready, just need to build the wheels when the hub arrives and finish the graphics.......
  • its still in mock up build......

does anyone know of any good rides around north cave ?
  • The only places I know are around Welton/Brantingham/Raywell area. I posted a link to the route a few pages back I think.

The route ain't so good though. We were up there on Sunday and it was hard going, boggy in sections, not worth it at the mo.

Going to look at further a field at the weekend, hopefully find some trails that are rideable....

well doesnt look as if im going to be out for a while, went to pick daughter up from school today on my scott.

bike was making loads of noise,so i put it down to the old "BB" ive put back in,anyway.......back of bike felt as tho rear wheel was loose, got home and it looks as tho its my rear hub(and thats where the noise has been coming from, not the " BB").

so not sure at mo till i have a good look if i need a new hub or not

I'm blaming Giggs because that's what I always do.
  • well, after todays run out, i can say that the local circuit is deffinatly no fun to ride.
some parts were up to the brakes in sludge.

well we decided on dalby so we didnt get wet with rain on moors, only to get covered in mud instead....started at visitors centre and made up our own route to dixons hollow, then followed red route back to start/fin......plenty of laughs, and falling off bikes, all in all,a fun day out.......
  • Aye, I thought I would have been a bit achy this morning since we ain't been out for a while, but I was fine.

So, the weather doesn't look bad for the weekend ahead at the moment. I we going to plan a nice little ride for the Dales or Moors for Saturday?

you know me,dales or moors is good........better not ring up freetown just yet then,or i wont have a bike for saturday.
  • Hi,

I live in Leeds and all my mates are boring and don't have any desire to get in to mountain biking. Basically i have not been riding properly for over 10 years.
2 days ago i posted on the beginner forum that i have a late 90's hard tail GT Zaskar. In excellent condition. With it being hard tail and dated i was not sure if it is capable of doing any serious riding without being updated or even replaced.
I am a self employed joiner so i don't exactly have money coming out of my ears at the moment but i do know a lot of mtb shops do finance.

I am desperate to get a new hobby, and the gym bores the hell out of me. I'm 29 and need riding buddies especially someone with experience who can advise and point me in the right direction.

It would be great to hear from you both and get riding again.

    Thanks

Hi, like our kid says, if you ain't been out off road on your bike for a fair few years, it might be best if you had a couple of rides out to see if you enjoy it.That way, if you don't then you won't waste any money on a new bike.

The routes we do you can easily get round on a HT, just make sure them nuts and bolts are tightened up.... Though, to be fair, I'm sure once you get back into it you will be off to go buy a new bike
  • Sound, Looks like i better get a helmet etc bought. Be nice to give it a go again
