Bloody English weather! Spent 4 days in dalby and was only able to ride twice,
Today and Saturday. Really enjoyed Saturday as my new brakes & tires gave me great confidence to tackle the red route but today the trials were just to wet to be safe. Came off 3 times, all fairly slow and without major injury (I'd wager a better rider wouldn't have had any of them but still...)

For information maxxis high rollers grip like a tramp to his last can of special brew! Bit draggy on Tarmac but never once lost grip on wet rock climbs. Very confidence inspiring on the downs too.

fewie, sorry to hear you didnt get in much riding

we had a nice ride in peaks today,myself/giggs/fastpaul and sandybean, considering all the rain that has fallen i didnt think the route was to bad for water and mud, much drier then i thought it would be......

paul hope youre "scratches" didnt sting to much in bath, flat pedals next time, leave the cleats at home for when youre racing .....

sandy, hope youre legs havent told you to stop just yet,and nice to meet you today, then again it wasnt raining

think we might have to downgrade route to a medium instead of a hard route 8)
  • Fewie..... Not too good about the weather. We had the same on Friday, but we were out in it on the Yorkshire Dales. Not a nice place to be when the weather is like that. Sounds like you are pleased with your new tyres.

Barkey, I think you could be right about fastpauls tyres, he was loving his grip today....

Had a good ride out in the Peaks, the Sun was great to see for once, all good fun was had.

    Couple of pics from today.

edit:or i can go out friday,if it means not riding alone

did i miss you mate,i got there just after 12 and waited around till 1pm,there was some race going on and looked like demo rides as well ......i did 19 miles in 2 hours, didnt do much of the world cup course, its started to wear away a lot in places, did back end of red route including the north shore and bits of the old red route, headed back up fire road along side world cup course from worry gill and then took red route all the way back to visitors centre.made a change from riding the moors/peaks.

yeah was abit of a nightmare to be honest. Got there at bout 11.30ish & waited till roughly 12.10. I had a good look around the car par before I left & could not see your car & had no signal on my crappy Iphone to give you a ring. Then went to ride the red route only to be told by a marshall that it was closed for another 45mins cos of the triathalon. So I ended up doing some of the green/blue & red route.

Sorry i missed you mate I'll have to get out on one of your rides but they tend to be during the week & i work 9-5 monday to friday :(
