    Hey,
When are you doing the Nidderdale ride again? Friday or Sunday? Both I can potentially do but just need to organise myself a bit.
    Cheers
PS, did the Hayfield route in the peaks on Sunday with Jacobs ladder decent. One of the guys broke his collarbone!! It was really tough but a huge achievement. How did you find it?
doing ride on friday if you can make it?
i didnt make the ride on saturday but giggsmaster did,he said it was ok,but didnt know if it was any better then the opposite way to what we ride it.

@ fastpaul, thanks for the link but I'm gonna have to buy local to make sure I have them for Friday morning.

My anthem is going back into cliff Pratt Thursday for it's free check over service so I'll see what they've got in. Or I could always try purple mountain in Dalby but as they've a
Captive audience I don't imagine their prices will be too competitive

hi fewie i have had some panaracer rampages before and i think they are pretty good
as an allrounder you can buy them from free town for £20 each
but if you want propper mud tyres then trailrakers are good for around here and so are bonty mudx

^^ thanks, I'm no sure what I want really! Was thinking about nobby nics simply because I could hopefully use them all year round. But at the price I could buy a summer set of tires and a winter set. Was also thinking of some hope hoops soon and I know that the nobbys are supposed to be fine tubeless (with sealant). I might just get a set of maxxis high rollers from ken's in time for the weekend as @ £40 for the pair I can stomach that as a short term solution until I decide what I wanna do long term....

fewie, what about a set of these that we noticed when we was at world cup(dalby),freetown did have them in a couple of weeks ago, think they where about £65 for one,not the pair

follow a59 out of york mate, come to roundabout for m1,just follow signs for a59 harrogate, there is a layby on right hand side when you join the road to harrogate after roundabout, prob best to meet you there,as we are going knaresborough way to pateley...it will take you about 20-25 mins to get to layby, meet you there 8-45am,should be finished ride about 2pm,and its only a hours drive back to york for you.

ill send you a pm with mobile sandy, looking at meeting up around 9-30am,if you follow the b6265 into pateley, cross over the bridge and take the first right(low wath road),follow this road all the way till you come to gouthwaite res, there is only one car park on youre left hand side,we will be starting there,or meet us at same place we are meeting fastpaul???

the route is only a medium :D

White tyres! Mmmmm.... I struggling with the temptation to order some spank xc Wheels from superstar (White hubs, blue rims, black spokes.... Not that I've thought about it much). White tyres throw open all sorts of new colour combination to compliment my anthem....

Dam you for the suggestion! ;)

Temptation avoided.... For now. Maxxis high rollers in 2.1's bought this morning from ken's, just waiting for pratts to finish the service and I'll get em on. Hopefully today's weather is a sign of things to come for the weekend. Not that it'll make too much difference to the trails after yesterdays down pour

Maxxis fitted and quick Tarmac test completed. Can't believe the extra rolling resistance on them. Wouldn't want to use them on Tarmac regular. Hopefully this translate to good grip on the trails though.

I've now stopped looking at the weather forecast, whatever will be will be and once your wet, your wet. I'll happily ride the blue loop at dalby each day if the weather makes the reds impassable
  • Hey,

I want to know how actually soaked you got today?!!

if it was anything like the last sunday outing then very wet
i just hope they didn't get lost like we did
  • hmm soaked was an understatment lol
  • Totally waterlogged.....!!!

Didn't start off to bad, but just when we got to the point of no return, then the wind and heavy rain came down. No waterproof clothes would have helped if you ask me....

We still somehow managed to have a good laugh though....

I think that may be the last time I listen to our kid when he asks if I want to go out during torrential rain....

Haha, bit of a wet ride then? I think everywhere got rain today.
I still need to clean my bike from when we rode in lakes... the rain washed most of the crap away though which is good.

well im sorry but ill have to disagree with weather today,i was cold and soaked through to the skin,if id of just been wet i would of been upset,or just cold i would of been upset....so im glad i was both

simon it was worse then last outing, specially when rain in youre face with high wind felt like it was hailstones against youre face :(

paul i hope you warmed up a bit mate, just a tip for you, remember a change of clothes and a towel next time

oi bro,not my fault you didnt say no we aint going on the ride cause of weather when you rang me thursday
barkey that pic is class, you should put it up on general under the>A Picture paints a thousand words - restart....

sandy, the bike looks new, cause soon as you had mud on it,the driving rain/sleet(dont know what it was as i had my head down) it washed it off bike, plus the puddles/streams on trail which at times where up to the qr's on my bike, helped to keep bike clean as well

not much fun on the road downhill to get back to car quick, when my brakes decided to say no to me,and i had to put my foot down on road to slow me down...in a nutshell,if its raining,im not going out again  well peaks is looking nice for monday, might be shorts and short sleeved top again, dont you love the british weather>>>>>http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/353?
  • yeh will bring some spare clothes for certain next time lol that was stupid but i got warmed in the car so was all good looking at weather monday dose look good so am up for coming with you guys if going somewhere?

looking at doing a peaks ride as weather at mo is sunny on monday, looking at starting at a place called hope which is about 30-40 mins west of sheffield,we have done the ride a few times before, might need some money for car park unless we can get parked on road...hopefully bro will put up the route on sunday.
  • Here is the route for tomorrow, Hope Valley.

The weather doesn't look too bad at the moment. Looks like it could be blue skies and light winds for once...

Is a 12 noon meet up at the Car Park in Hope, opposite the Woodbine Cafe OK with you Paul...?
