  • Hmmm, might not be able to make it now, last week at dalby i got a puncture on the front, wheelied back to the carpark so all was good, but i used my spare tube one of those bontrager gel filled ones with a bloody presta valve, seems to have issues with the valve as its going down slightly and the old tube has been sliced on the rim side, got a sharp edge to find on my rim as its the second tube to do this, so by the time ive faffed and then got to meet you boys i will have missed you anyways, i will get myself on a ride at some point, i just havent a clue when :(

Aye, I was thinking of maybe finishing off that ride in the peaks, but make sure we have defo got a full day for it...

Or, if it has been wet, do a ride on Moors. Starting in Cockayne, over Blowith Crossing, across Middle Head, down and up the causeway, descent in to Baysdale Abbey, back up on road to Cleveland Way, descend to the plantation for an ascent of the Incline... Then back across Moors for that nice descent back to Cockayne.

Sounds good mate, hopefully we may finally get my friend out with us at the weekend too, although don't cross your fingers..

Anything around Cockayne is fine by me if we cant do the Peaks!

  • Been out this morning at the place where my moors riding first started, Danby!

For those that havn't explored around Danby, its a very pretty and often quiet part of the North Yorkshire Moors national park. Having set off from Danby, I headed up the road climb towards the Danby Beacon, some 20mins of climbing later and I reached the Beacon.

    02-3.jpg

Once there I headed down the bridleway into Lealholm, just coming into the village I hit a rather cool 40MPH lol in a 30 too! Opps! Then following the river I forded the River.

    04-3.jpg

The climbed up into Glaisdale, out onto Glaisdale Moor, only coming across 2 walkers!

    05-3.jpg

Then headed down Cut Road (bridleway) towards 'the corksrew'.

Photos of the Corkscrew to for those that didn't join us on our last ride!

    011-1.jpg

Then down the corkscrew, into Great Fryup Dale, heading towards Danby Rigg, and back down into Ainthorp, then finally Danby.

Hey Barkey hope you had a great time over there, shame bout the riding. Hope you dont find me a bit of a copy cat but there's possibility by the end of the month I may have the same spec Remedy from Ken Elleker in a 15.5 size, was that the same as your because I remember you saying you went for a smaller frame size.

Hope to catch up sometime matey :D

it's a great bike you won't regret it, mines the 17.5 (hard tail is 19.5), The only complaint is the thought of replacing them XTR chain rings!
