This is the route and starts at 10:30am.
so North Ferriby or Hessle Fore Shore may be the better option.0 -
Hi all, just been reading through the last 26 pages, it looks like there is a good few lads on here from in and around Hull. I'm based in Hessle and I'm just getting back to biking after 10 years of not being near a bike. I've bought a Trek 6500 Disc from KE last week and so far I'm loving it.
I'm mainly just commuting at the moment to work and back (10 Mile a day) but I will be looking at doing some trail riding once my fitness starts to return.
I was just wondering if there any trails close to Hessle that are good for a beginner?
Cheers guys.0 -
Plenty of them if you want to hook up one day let me know, Best bet is to head towards Welton Via Hessle Foreshore which is what I do for my regular route Map Link, once you get to the back of welton there is quite bit.0

start at north ferriby mate as long as weather is good......easy for me to get parked up in car there, and then you cant kill me in little switz,lol.....i was looking at parking where we came out near the railway bridge in ferriby????0 -
yeah, I know where you mean here that's no problem for me, pick a time and hope for the weather to hold out.
I most likely to be on the trek , I got a branch in the front wheel of my hardtail, hopefully its just few new spokes and a truing.0 -

Hi Barkley, cheers for that, I will have to give that a try. I've only clocked up around 50 mile so far, and would probably hold you up, I will definitely give you a shout though once I get a few more miles in me.
Thanks Gary.0 -

I really don't know what's best I could ride down to hessle foreshore about for 10:30 and see if it is busy and send you txt, then go mess about in little swiss, if it not too bad and if it is bad it takes me about 20 mins or so to get down to North Ferriby and meet you there.
Gaz dont worry about your fitness level it's always good to ride with other people!
Got my wheel back only a tenner so pleased about that.0 -

I Hope you both had a good day today. I would have come today but need to do a little more millage first, my legs are sore as hell just from going to work and back this week. Once I drop a bit of weight that should help as well, I'm 17 stone at the moment and even at 6'2" I'm still well over what I should be.
I'll keep an eye out though and if your going for a ride in a few weeks I'll definitely join you, if you don't mind...0 -

as i said in above post....just road riding on mountain bike for me at mo......trying to get my fitness back up at mo,after being off bike for 4 weeks.......normally do peaks/moors with giggmaster and mattharper, but me and giggsmaster are under a ban at mo due to him getting married soon,
plenty of pics on here from me/giggsmaster and mattharper to give you a idea of what we ride off-road,if you can be arsed to look through all the posts on here
Well same really, just getting my fitness back up. I've only got a hardtail, so presume that I cant do much off roading?? Although Ide like to. Got a GT agressor XC3 from Halfords - so nothing flash like you guys lol. I've got transport so def want to somewhere with a few more hills than hull lol.
Upgraded the pedals which are alot better now. Apart from that I've just been doing some rides to hornsea, into town/the deep etc. Nothing major at the moment, could do with some ride maps of where people go etc.0 -
Best places locally well I think at the back of north ferriby behind melton/welton and brantingham. Your quite welcome to join me and there are a few hills and hard tail will easily cope with it.
I start at humber bridge car park and go along the hessle foreshore and up to brantingham and back, I only work part time at the mo so available a few days during the week as well. let me know if you want to hook up.
Altern let me know any days your available for a ride well try and meet up lol0 -
Definitely. I'll hold you to that once I know when I'm free. Going to take my bike to halfords having now had it a few weeks....make sure I built it properly and get it free tested. Little ride to Ottringham tomorrow morn I think0
-

I really need to get myself more involved again with local rides as ive been sooo lazy of late, although i was at dalby last weekend and did the blue route with a few mates and utterly loved it, then went to dixons hollow for a damn good play and aven attempted the skinnies too, my confidence returneth!"Don't ask the reasons why cos there arent any, don't follow convention, never say no, just believe in what you see and let the good times roll!"0
