Go to dal y, Sherwood pines, Wales etc maybe gonna try hamsterly forest at weekend, sometimes go local around welton and ellerker don't no any routes around brantingham tho, but looks good for a local blast,
would be good meeting up with some local people aswell,

Hi and welcome,im just riding local stuff at the moment to try and get fit but hopefully looking at doing something next month, dont really do trail centres tho if we head out, most of the time Giggsmaster will get the OS maps out and we make up our own routes up on the Moors/Peaks or Dales.

Just keep a eye on here as you normally get someone posting on upcoming rides :D

right, im going to do the local loop from the shop at 4pm on thursday if anyone wants to join in. we are biking from bev rd through cottingham to get there... not go in the car like some! ;)

dalby red is still boggy in parts. gates one to six are poor with a diversion on six and i think it was 25 or 27 shut too.

we did scarborough to whitby on sunday afternoon, my mate paul nearly got blown off the cliff. it was a bit windy to say the least!

got to whitby in the middle of goth weekender... on a purple and black bike covered in skulls, i nearly got raped!

I'll see what time I get off work Stu, if I'm not there by 4pm I'm still at work.... I will get out on that day sometime, just work depending.

I hope you not insinuating that some of us on here drive to North Ferriby then get on our bikes.... It's got to be a few years since me and our kid have done that, so it can't be us......

Did the red route @ a wet/slippery & muddy Dalby tonight. Only the 2nd time this year i've been out on the mountain bike & it's made me realise that I don't miss the mtb @ all really :(

It maybe I just don't miss the s***hole that they call Dalby but I've done all most 2800miles on the roadbike this year so far :D so I think you could say "I've gone to the dark side" & I deffo won't be back @ Dalby anytime soon

    Anyway rant over

Me and Giggs where up at Dalby as well,we was there from 3pm till about 6-30pm,did some of the red from the toll booth at the far end back towards visitor centre then made our way back to dixons hollow, bit of the world cup course, the far end of the red,bit of black then back to the car along the red again,16 miles in total.

    PM in youre inbox mate.

You was lucky with the weather, when we got there in the afternoon we had to sit in the car for 15 mins to wait for the hailstone to stop, then we had sunshine followed by rain. The parts they have repaired are for the better, some nice rolling stuff again now.

Went out with Giggs on the local trails Friday night starting at Nut wood and heading over to Swanland then onto Ferriby ,back past scout camp/quarry then did a few ups and downs on the local stuff,a few puddles and a bit sticky but it should all dry up over the next day or two,we did 18 miles and bumped into a few other lads who where out and enjoying the sunshine.

I'm doing a few road miles at the moment to get a bit fitter for the c2c
Tomorrow will be the 3rd day in a row that I'm out on my bike
I felt it this morning in my legs
    2 weeks to go now

So youre still doing the c2c then Si?
Ive been getting out every 2nd day but only doing round here or from here over to local stuff anywhere from 10-35 miles per ride,...when we was out Friday night we did a few sections in reverse which made a change.

    Hi,

I'm going to be moving to Hull with-in the next few months and was wondering if anyone could show us some good routes around the area and also if there as any descent riding groups (couldn't be bothered to look through all 192 pages).

    Thanks,

hi gray, welcome to the area.
what sort of riding are you into?
i usually do the local xc stuff (due to working 24/7) but a few of us go out to the dales and moors and also go to dalby forest (about an hour away)

i am hoping to get some bus trips organised if an idea comes off.

Thanks, I mainly do trail riding and XC myself, I tend to do a at least one, two hour local ride a week and also most Fridays go up to one of my mates who lives in Malton to either do Dalby or a XC ride. Also I have a mate near Durham and I go up to ride Hamsterly occasionally, which more of the kind of riding I like to do, we also go off to other trail centres around the country esp the Scotish borders a few times a year. I currently work in Hull which is why I'm moving there, I live localish already. Could you suggest any good local routes which I could straight from my new house?

Hi and welcome, the majority of us dont tend to do trail centres we normally ride stuff up on the Moors/Peaks or Dales, and only tend to goto Dalby as a last resort, which could only be 2-3 times a year.

Just depends on where youre new house is for the time it will take to get to local trails,i live on Kingswood and takes me about a hour riding to get out to them, and about 20-30 mins in car.The local stuff is a mixture of roads/bridleways and footpaths, and there are many different variations to do.

    we got wet on thursday!

the tpt blockage has been extended to stop people accessing it, which is a bit shitty as we had to detour onto the beach. maybe i should complain to the local rangers!:lol:
