I blame you then,
I did a quick blast on sunday of 10 mile and then went out monday and did 28 mile in 2 hours 35 i went out Dunswell lane/Bentley/Risby/Little Weighton/Rowley then onto local stuff to Nut Wood/climb over Little Wauldby Farm to the road, turn right and drop down then right to join the bridleway back to the cross roads at Turtle Hill then back towards Rowley/Skidby/Cottingham then the back roads to Dunswell lane and home.0 -
-
Im looking at heading out Sunday morning and doing a bit of the local stuff, was out Thursday on local stuff and did 35 mile and out Friday for 16 miles......0
-
I'll join you on sun too nice not to, I've been doing the local stuff most night this week.0
-
No worries Barkey, are we going to chance heading down the foreshore to Ferriby,or take the detour?0
-
you have to go around tbh it not that much of a detour you have to come up through humberbridge car park turn left onto ferriby road then follow it to A15 there is a cycle path along it to ferriby high road which will take you to ferriby.
What time you setting off.0 -
Thats the way i went on Thursday, ill be setting off about 10am so should be up with you about 11am,shall i meet you up at the snack bar in the bridge car park? I was going to do everything to the concrete road at Welton wold farm, then turn right and do the downhill, climb back over waudby farm, hit the road and turn left, drop down towards Welton then turn right and over the hill to do the bridleway climb, drop down to Elloughton dale and climb up the road, down to the trail that takes you to the cross roads where you can go straight on to Nut wood.......going to see how i feel when get there and maybe head to Nut wood then back over Wauldby Farm then head home via Skidby...........if thats ok with you as i need to do as much climbing as i can.0
-
that's fine the more climbing the better, see you at the snackbar.0
-
Okey dokey Barkey....obviously if you want to miss out the road bits i can always meet you further round, will chat with you tomorrow in more depth, see you about 11am at the snack bar, make sure you order me a double bacon an egg0
-
Not to sure if you will get this Barkey, ive just found out that there is the Race for Life in city centre Sunday, and the route i was going to take may be closed due to it,so i will have to take a diff route to find a way to English street/Hessle road, hopefully ill still be there at 11am.......0

Had a good ride in the Lakes today, very hot.... Got the wife to drop me off near Grasmere then made my way back to Coniston.
Climbed Red Bank onto Loughrigg Terrace, good views of Grasmere.
Then onto the descent of Loughrigg Terrace.
This took me around the back of Ambleside, with a tough climb onto Loughrigg Fell.
Bit if road through Elterwater and Little Langdale, to a loose gravel climb upto Great Intake.
Descent down into High Tilberthwaite and finished off with the BW to Coniston.
17.5 mile in 2hrs 10min.0 -

Looks like ill have to chance my life on the A15 and Ferriby High Road again tomorrow then  ,how hard can it be to stick a bit of metal in the ground to stop the railway track joining us on the TPT.........0
-
hey guys,
i'm new to the forum and the sport and looking at getting to know the local routes that people do. i live in sutton park area. Any help in taking me to the next step would be much welcome.0 -
Hi and welcome midge, sometimes it gets posted on here when peeps are off out local, other times its a last minute thing.......at the moment im doing local rides every other day and can be anywhere from 15-38 miles depending on what route i take, but most of the time im doing it during the day.0
-
So were is good to ride or do you just see were your legs take you?0
-
Follow youre nose id say.......if youre serious about getting fit i could show you a couple of routes to get fit, which you could then do youreself,or join others on here.0
-
Ive been doing a few miles on the river, can you get to wawne using the river? I'm going to do the hornsea train track for a bit of fitness, how long should it take and how many miles is it. When I'm happy with my fitness levels id like to meet up with yourself self or other rides to learn new routes0
-
Yea you can get to Wawne along the river mate,i normally head out to Wawne, past Waggoners pub take 2nd left Main Street(church on youre left)follow the road all the way down till it goes round to youre right,at this point you can stay on this road(Ferry road) for 0.65 miles which will take you to a gate,at this point you are on the River Hull so take a left and follow it all the way back to the bridge next to David Llloyd...........if you want a bit shorter route instead of going onto Ferry road you can go straight on down Greens Lane(Wawne Primary school on right) and then onto the River Hull and back to bridge which will be about 5-6 miles.......
The Hull-Hornsea is about 15 miles(30 miles there and back),we normally go out on road(which can be busy) through Wawne/Routh/Leven/Catwick/Seaton and then back along the Hornsea track, last time i did this about a month ago i did it in about 2 hours,if you can average 7mph it would take about 4 hours without stops.
There is a circular route i do to Swine then back through Wawne that is only 15 miles using the Railway track.
I wouldnt worry about fitness if you want to join me on a night for me to show you some routes,as im out by myself anyway,we all have to start somewhere0 -
im off out to do the local loop on wed at 11 from the shop if anyone wants to meet up.
i fancy doing a night ride soon. anyone up to join me?
where would you go?0 -
I might join you if i aint doing anything and if im still alive after 2mor's ride up in the Yorkshire dales>>>>>HERE
Aint got any lights to do a night ride anymore,me and Giggs use to do Dalby a lot.0 -
-

From personal experience, its probably best to get a helmet, as everyone knows on here I'm always coming off....0
