    Hi.

I've heard more complaints about the on one hundred then good reports. Most of the route was fire/tarmac road wasn't it? Didn't do it myself as I was working but didn't fancy paying £40 to ride otherwise free trails anyway.

Whats the plan for this fridays ride? and is anyone welcome. Maybe free and able to have my first ride with you guys.

    majik.

    Hi magpie316,

Yea it was a bit of a joke, seeing as purple mountain where involved you would of thought we would of done more red route in dalby its self, rather then riding next to it on a fire road

Ride this friday will be up on moors, either starting at Cockayne or The lion inn,not sure what time yet,ill know more after tonight as im seeing Giggsmaster.

Not been out since we did Black Hambleton, did Snowdon race the same day you fellas did the Dalby event (have you heard anything back from that yet - I've spoken to a few folks about it - not much positive!). My heels have about recovered from the race - hoping to get out this week or next weekend if anybody's out?

Haha I went when that enduro race was on and let's face it some want exactly racing we went flying past a good 10 to 15 of them on a casual ride where they met the black trail for a bit but Yeh the race did look like it sucked a bit after we finished and went to have a look at the route was it really all like paths and stone roads we was confused if we was following the right path might aswell have had a cyclocross bike lol

If you mean at Dalby,it wasnt a race jon,it was a endurance event.....it was more youreself against the clock, rather then racing against other ppl.It was a lot of double track and fireroads tho, when they could of used more singletrack.....we have said never again 8)

I'm hoping to get out this weekend, just bought a new frame and a tonne of other bits to upgrade, should hopefully be built by Friday so looking for any excuse to get out on it. Did the local route a couple of times since I was last first shown, got pretty lost the first time, ruined all my hard work climbing by taking the wrong left which took me on a 30mph road d/h to triton inn... Gutted. Had a bit more success on sunday tho.

Jon, how do u get involved with this 'cyclopaths'?

go onto the website type in google hull thursdays road club (HTRC) then theres a section on that called the cyclopaths i just looked for hull mtb clubs as i wanted to get involved as a sport just like you, theres a link on that website which is a form you have to fill in and send of with a small amount of money then keep an eye on the website to see where the rides are at what time ect its a bit nerve racking at 1st they have really nice bikes and when i went there was a hell of alot of them sometimes upto 40 generally less though but dontr be put of there great lads and not as fast as you think they will be

Sorry i aint been in touch with you all for a while, had a death in the family so been tied up in sorting things out .

So now, hopefully ill try to get something sorted out for this saturday, local or further out.

Hi and welcome ozonerider, there is a local route out towards Brantingham that is good for getting a few miles in youre legs, ill try to find a link to the route.

The best thing to do,is to post up on here if you are going out youreself,or just keep a eye out for rides,myself/giggsmaster/sl2371 and barkey normally get out further a field on a weekend, the local ride is normally at short notice during the week, hope that helps out a bit.

Now then Steve, long time no see hows things with you?
  • Sound Stu, joined Bad Brains MBC after riding out with you guys, so doing plenty of club rides and the odd weekend epic. Will def try and get over for one of your weekend do's soon. Also we could maybe join up for a peaks ride when our crew next goes that way?
Riding is a bit better now I've got a decent bike, though I'm still a bit of a nancy on gnarly downhill stuff - but not bothered :D

Glad to see her indoors is still letting you get out and about Steve
And be good to catch up with you on a ride, you will have to give us a shout when youre crew is out in the peaks......as long as you dont mind waiting for us still ,aint been out for 2 weeks,so looking at trying to get out on saturday, even if its just a local ride.

  • Well, not trying to go one up or owt... but....
Back in May I got knocked down by a 3ton tipper truck at work - knocked me down then ran over my leg/ankle! Not worked since, miraculously no bones broken but ligaments etc well fooked.
Good news is - after 3 weeks on crutches I was back on bike and able to ride ok. Still having physio and getting lot better.
Hope the claim comes through eventually

jon1993 we start off near Asda on kingswood, its nothing special the route we do,a mixture of footpaths/bridleways/tracks and road which takes you to Brantingham............
Depending on what route you do once youre at Brantingham,it can be anywhere from 24-33miles.
