when you go out maybe just concentrate on doing some hill work
climb the same hill 3 or 4 times then you will get used to climbing

Thats what i was suppose to be doing with Giggs over the last week and a bit,but believe it or not,hes actually been working past 4pm

And the weather forecast has changed for thursday and friday now,was sunshine, now rain/cloud,no doubt it will change again by 6pm tonight.
  • well, im home!

i got the milage a bit out and we covered 491 miles in total, we finished 45 minutes early and got severley drunk!
    it was great!!

ill get some pics and stuff up later!

altern, it was my mate riding round on the pedal promotions tandem. i got to do a couple of laps on the whyte, spent most of the sky ride replacing tubes and stuff.

you think spout hill is bad.... try the kirkstone pass. it was 20% gradient climb.... although the 15 minute 12 mile downhill afterwards made up for the 4 hour accent!
  • A big Well Done Stu.....!

How is the backside after all them miles... I bet there were some good riding out there, especially over the Lakes. That Kirkstone Pass would have been a killer, after doing a few days before aswell. Once you get out of the Lakes it's all downhill from there though..

So what's the plan next year, John O'Groats to Lands End maybe....?

ok ok i only noticed since it says with huge signs. I dont like being out done im going to find the steapest hill somehow, even though i cant get anywhere that does with no car haha. Mountain bikes are just better in hill climb my roadie has to high gearings for a really steep hill and not enough grip but then again that might just be coz im really a mountain biker and use roadie as little as possible lol.

Did any of you have a go on the bike in the hull city road clubs tent on queens gardens and see what time you got?

  • altern - we were in queen victoria square, had a massive stall and 7 staff. the punctures came thick and fast after the first lap. was like custers last stand!

the stall in queens gardens were charging a tenner to put a patch on! bloody rip offs.

its been a fun week. looks like between us we raised about 4k for a few charities and got some great coverage from the press.

sky are keen to join us next year too!, next one could be huge. 8)

  • I know it's short notice but ive had some plans cancelled so I'm going to be doing the local loop, looking to start around 6-6.30.

If anyone fancies it let me know on here and I'll wait up.

Ps I'll be abusing the granny ring a bit, I'm pretty unfit at the mo!
