Anybody out tomorrow?
I'm thinking Peak or NY moors.0 -
Myself and giggsmaster are going up on to the NY Moors 2mor(friday),starting HERE,we are looking at getting there for 9am for a 9-30am start,to take on Black Hambleton.
Giggsmaster has to be back in Hull for 3pm so we will be looking at getting back to the car no later then 1pm,should still give us plenty of time for a 15-20 mile ride tho.
More then welcome to join us Highy,as is anyone else.0 -
I need to be back around 4ish, so that sounds good.
Where abouts in Hawnby will you be Altern?0 -
I think altern posted a link in his post where to meet....
As you get into Hawnby coming from helmsley, you go over a little bridge, you go round a s bend, then there is a left turn. Go down there and on the left is a village hall, round the back is where we park.
Or you could meet in the main helmsley car park at 0845....0 -
Ah....should have checked the link more carefully!
Will see you at Hawnby about 9 (I'm reckoning 2hrs from here).0 -
EDIT:
Looks like myself/Giggsmaster and Highy picked the right day to go out on friday, did a nice 18 miles up on the moors taking in Great Arden Moor/Black Hambleton and a bit of Boltby forest.
Think next ride will be mid week, but only a short local ride to stretch the legs before the 0n-One-Hundred on the 24th.
Giggsmaster i found this,as you was on about us doing it in 2 days,Wolds way cycle route, looks like a fair bit of road riding as i did read somewhere that only 40% of it can be done off road on a bike0 -
Could be up for a mid week ride if my legs start to work again after all the pushing up this weekend!!
Was going to ask if anyone is out at the weekend (23-24th) as Matt is up at Fort Bill doing the DH endurance race with his brother and i'm staying at home to let them have a boy/brotherly weekend - but I see you guys are doing the on-one-hundred! Wow! Are you doing the 30 or 60? Good Luck!!delightfully dangerous!0 -
Danielle... At the mo, I think we will be going for a quick jaunt on Wednesday. All depends on the weather though... So, if you keep your eye out on here.
And, its just the 30 miler at the weekend..... Easy.
Our Kid... When I read about the Yorkshire Wolds Way in the Mail, it seem to be more off road, what a load of rubbish that is....!0 -

Weather at mo dont look to bad for wed night, but that could change by morning
Giggs,i was looking at it last night, and all the links made it look like you could ride all of it,till you opened the links and it was just on about walking it.0 -
I'll join u guys tomorrow night again if u don't mind?0
-
-
What time are you planning on meeting? Sounds like a cop out yet again but if its later, eg 7ish, I think we'll have to skip this week again. I've been roped in to helping Matt get everything prepared for this weekend, we've currently got his DH bike in bits and strewn around the kitchen! Therefore, I'll be heading out ~ 5ish when I get in from work before Matt gets back from work.
I will make it one week!!delightfully dangerous!0 -
As far as i know, its a 7pm start again...im in 2 minds at mo if i should go out on my old cannondale or not,as my scott is all cleaned and ready for the On One on sunday.
Good luck to Matt on his enduro up at fort bill....0 -
Hi people, myself and altern are not riding tonight.
Keep an eye out for other days and routes.....0 -
Hi folks
Cheers for the spin around the moors last week and best wishes for the On One.0 -
Sorry for having to cancel local ride at short notice, hopefully once we get past this weekend,we will sort out a ride somewhere for the 30/31st july.
And any time Highy, glad you enjoyed it.0 -
What time are we getting to mcdonalds for on Sunday morning :?0
-
6-30am simon ,can believe what time we have to be up to go for a ride round dalby, and the other 20 miles round the moors......i know its not a race, but if someone is in front of you,we will all be trying to overtake them,i just know im going to be dying with 5-10 miles left to go doing that, only to find there is only us 3 doing the 50km :oops:0
-
-
Put it this way Barkey, they will be getting a email of complaint off me in morning......there was no real organisation, there was prob about 50-100 of us who didnt get a goody bag/sent familys doing the 30km down a black run in dalby/it was just fire road all the way,its put me off doing anouther Endurance ride if thats what they are all like........did the 31.5 mile in 3 hours 25 mins.0
-
"The best singletrack Dalby Forest has to offer".... Yeah right.
The last 6 mile was done around Dalby and what did they send us on....? Fire roads and tarmac, when the Red Route was just right next to us.
They send us all off in one go, so no staggered start. With only a quick half loop of Adderstone we came to a halt on the Black Run where a few of the 30km lot were walking it. Obviously that is understandable, if there ain't done that sort of stuff before, so why didn't they do a staggered start....?0 -
Giggsmaster wrote:"The best singletrack Dalby Forest has to offer".... Yeah right.
And ive re read the confirmation email,we was suppose to get the goody bag at the end when we finished, and there was suppose to be a pasta bar for free as well????0 -
I thought it was 3h 15 mins :oops:0
