Well the car is new to me, not brand new - I am not a fancy pants, with a brand new little ferrari!

Hey Quake, you are refering my Fiat Grande Punto GP to a farrari...... :) maybe the the colour but I think thats as far as it goes. The front design does seem maserati insired though

Once again would love to come to dalby, however I wont be driving there in my car anymore, the previous journey with my bike rack caused rubbing on my boot lid so already it suffers minor scratches. Im more than happy to pay the fuel expense though.

Any date as to when the bike arrives?

I have just spoken to our kid, think we might be doing Thursday. Depending on the weather to what place we go, so if its raining on the Moors we could do the Peaks and vice versa.

    Is that ok with you?

Thursday is fine mate, dunno if i can afford to goto the Peaks until I get my student loan on the 21st, mainly as im going upto Hamsterley forest on the 17th of an Uplift day, (doing their DH tracks, and then bring you back up in minibus, etc). Its down for heavy rain all day weds here, so if it does the moors will be pretty bad going as you know. Would like to ride in the peaks though..

So Matt,, looking at the weather for tomorrow, it looks like it could be a bit windy up on them Moors.

Looks like it could be a jaunt round Dalby if thats ok with you. Probably look to arrive in Dalby for about 9.30am, dont know whether you want to meet up outside and chuck your bike in the back so we only pay 1 admission?

If anyone else wants to join up, should be in the Visitor Centre carpark at around 9.30am, looking to start riding about 10ish.

Hey mate, Dalby sounds like a plan! Cheers for the meet outside idea. but i think Thorton-le-dale is either double yellows or 2hr max carpark spaces. Plus I might as well get an Annual pass, as my family go alot on a nice sunday too! I will see you at the carpark at 9.30!

Cheers for the offer of the pass, I knew I should have checked the forum before I left this morning....

As Matt says, it was a good ride today. Since I was there last time, it looks like its had abit of work done to some of the trails, making riding in the first 17 miles very fast in some parts and enjoyable.

The last 6 mile or so was a different story though. Don't know where the standing water came from, but my backside was soaked.....

Aye, good ride. I'm happy with the time we did the route in aswell, not bad, eh.... Your not wrong regarding the sand, it looks like I have been bathing on Brid beach...!!!

like giggsmaster said, been some serious work done to parts of ride since we was last up there,a lot of it has been flattened out and get some speed going.......we did full red route in 2 hours 42 mins, see if you can get near that on youre tank  i suppose after seeing our time you will prob give us a miss next time we are at dalby or any other rides we do :):D just joking mate, anytime mate.........,mattharper got round in about 3 hours, but then again he was with us and we was pushing him up some climbs :D

matt>sorry we was in a bit of a rush today to get ride done, think all the uphills we have done on moors gave us a lot of energy in legs to do ride so quick,we normally take our time at dalby stopping a few times for a chat and taking pics, last time we did all the red route we was cramping up and wasnt as quick, but a big pat on youre back mate for keeping up on youre bike and time you did it in,suppose in the long run,it will make you even more stronger on the jumps/downhills you do...............wouldnt mind, didnt get back to hull in time anyway for that appoitment i had to go to,

will deff go for anouther ride in 2 weeks time with you mate,we will do same again and see where best weather is,enjoy youre jump session next week mate while we are doing our cross country, keep in touch, :D

So, I presume you aint got your bike yet? I had a bit of trouble getting mine from Evans aswell. When I went to go pick it up from Castleford it had a bent disc, but they couldn't replace it because the mechanic had gone home with his tools and they didn't have any in the shop to do the job....??!!

So, I ended up having to go back the next day. Bit of a waste time and fuel, I suppose I did get a free cycle computer though.

No worries about the rushing around towards the end, it was a good exercise for me to push both my fittness and my bikes climbing ability! Going to have a run out to York in abit to see if I can get some Sombrio shorts since its starting to get warmer! Looking forward to spending the day just going downhill on Friday  Should make a nice change and no doubt some stories too! Also currently watching a bike rack on ebay too, getting abit sick of cleaning my car out every time I go biking... Still got the bike to clean too lol, yet more sand  Well have to arrange something for the week after next :D

    Have a good easter all!

you should have had a look on wiggle mate for some shorts,i know theyve been doing some good deals on there just recently, and normally deliver within 3 days with normal postage........aint sure where we will be going next week for a ride, you watch, with you not being with us it will be a easy ride,

our kid use to moan as well about having to empty his car out all the time, thats why he got the rack for bikes, and its quicker as you dont have to take bike apart everytime..........we washed bikes at morrisons in bev on way back, could still do with a proper clean tho.........

    Hey,

Been to Stainburn forest twice this weekend  lol. Went yesturday by myself as it was a nice day, it was super dry and managed about 10 runs of the descent line (DH type rocky course) and a couple of loops of the black run. Then today, went with my friend as he was taking his brother to Leeds Bradford airport and its about 4 miles away from the airport 8)

    Photo is from today,
