And Hello to CP and LiT and thanks Jash.
SA was awesome, I am now a complete convert to the dark side of off-road riding. Some of the trails there were amazing!

If only I could off road to work - get the dog walked at the same time....oh the pleasure and the mud. Lets face it - us 30 year old blokes will do anything to thrash about in mud...0 -

Is it? I was not aware of that.
Maybe I will look into this more seriously!0 -
I really want to try MTBing - Livs, if the offer of borrowing your brother's bike is still there I'm up for it!0

Cool! Well seeing as I'm in the UK capital of MTBing, once I find out more specifically where that is maybe we should grab a couple of MTBs from the stores and have a go!0 -
ooh ooh can I come?Emerging from under a big black cloud. All help welcome0

AHEM! While I may be riding a mtb, I am not *into* mtbs.
I'm with Jash. Take the traitor to the gallows.

I've been round epping forrest a couple of times and it's great fun... I like it and yes I've considered getting a hard tail for all sorts of muddy nonsense or a cross but I feel a mtb would be easier to man handle through the dirt and jumpsPurveyor of sonic doom
Very Hairy Roadie - FCN 4
Fixed Pista- FCN 5
Beared Bromptonite - FCN 140 -
When I said 'the stores' I meant my brother's collection of mtbs he doesn't use any more!
However, some of them are a lot nicer than others.. I'll have to have an assessment of which ones are useable!
And Linsen, of course you can! You might get stuck on a suspension-free specialised thing from the mid-90's though - you're rather more petite than my brother is now!0 -

Don't knock rigid MTBing, says the man who rode a 1992 DB Ascent for 16 years, until it broke in two. Suspension is overrated marketing :twisted:Today is a good day to ride0 -
I definately intend to take the Giant offroading in the summer - hopefully have a thrash around some Scottish forestry - probably not downhill at Fort William though 8)0

By heck was it cold this morning, it just seemed to suck the energy from me!
Had a fun battle with a fixie heading towards Camberwell from Dulwich Village. I picked him up as he came past approaching a ped crossing which he nipped across narrowly missing the ped on it :-(
I followed him past the train station and around onto Sunray Avenue where I thought that my extra 23 gears would come in helpful. As we crossed the mini roundabout I started moving out wider and nipped past him and the high-vis fodder up ahead.
As I was heading up the steeper section the sun was behind us and I could make out 2 shadows..........the bugger was on my wheel! Now I'd hit 22 as I came past him was making a good pace up the hill he he was hanging on in there!
I stayed ahead on the descent of Denmark Hill towards the hospital and then lost him after he and another SS jumped the lights by the shops!
Nothing interesting on the way home but then when your heading away from town @ 14:45 there don't tend to be many commuters around, for all the waiting around twiddling my thumbs this jury service has involved it does have some nice bits - bl00dy early finish!
To help remedy my boredom I did buy this month's C+ from the WH Smith's round the corner and intend to read it cover to cover!0 -

As things have gone a bit off beam tonight I feel ok in continuing the trend.
What happened to SpitChips to get banned, did s/he cut rough after you lot took the p*ss after the top tip debarcle the other day and consequently suffer the wrath of the moderators :?:
As to the latest musings : hard tail in Epping Forest is spot on, done loads of it there but as to full sus being over rated you must be joking when you are on the rough stuff, gives you miles more confidence[1]Ribble winter special

A fantastic review of the Exmoor Beast in there, feel a bit better about it knowing that the Journo in question didn't make the cut off either."Impressive break"
