I think (from memory) it's minimum of Silver BC membership which is £36 (if not, then it's 'Ride' which is £24).

Now that things are 'settling' down a bit with my 2 month old daughter, I should be able to get out more on Sundays so will be up for more rides in the future :D

Timmo - we both grew up around there, know everyone and always love going back. So started looking two weeks ago and confirmed a yes last night.

Also got schools to consider - the primary school in that area is excellent as is the secondary school. If the little one went to school here, it's be Truro school and nasty school fees. So we will be sort of saving money...!

Still renting and it's a bit of a wallet bruiser but the house is very nice indeed...
  • andym i know what you mean fella! my littlun is 3 1/2 now! first few months were very limited into other activities lol!!! but does mean you can get a trailer, and back carrier etc. and take them out in that! my littlun Loved it!!!

Matt, saw the 'Coming home' comment on FB and made me think thats why!! dont blame you, Always love the area i grew up in even if it was St.A lol!
    dont blame you one bit!¬!

Timmo - hehe, when I found out my partner was expecting, one of the first things I thought was...excuse for a new bike! I've just ordered a Kona Ute via Cyclescheme at work for child-ferrying duties!

Thats a novelty, moving TO Redruth for work.

My girl is a Penrice baby. Just got her one of those run bikes, ie bike with no pedals. She loves it but is about 1" too short at the moment.

When you've moved, you'll have to give us a call when you fancy a ride round Dunmere. Then again, I reckon we'll lose to totally to surfing pretty soon.

Have a word with Mark (Trailriders) and Andy (Cornwall MTB) - I'm sure one or the other would be happy with membership of one of the affiliates. After all, it's mainly for the insurance.
IIRC BC includes bike insurance as well as 3rd party liability, whereas CTC is only 3rd party.

I'm looking forward to Mud & Sweat at the weekend - just a week of work and 2 nights in London before hand.

  • haha! yeah i know the opposite way to what most Stozzolians would say! although, to be truthful, is So mych better living down here than up there! sence of comunity etc, Proper surf coast too!! much much nicer!

littlun was riding the balance bike around the barn on sunday when we dropped down to help a mate with a flat on the trail out, very funny, although, i think the best method is to buy a normal bike and whip the crank out! saves having to buy two bikes then!

It was a tricky day today. I snapped my chain just after we collected our first 'dib', then spent the rest of the ride getting chain suck. We then spent nearly 20 min trying to find one checkpoint and the got back with 20 min to spare.

    Not that well organised eh!

Well done to the Cornwall MTB guys.

So you reckon we ended up 9th Timmo? Think we were 7th when we came in.

going to try and get out for a local loop latrer as had a pretty rough weekend, thats if i dont end up back in bed lol!!

  • goood man!!! always good having something shiny to play with!!!!

have swapped the Sid's back over for the bombers now as was getting fed up of the flexing lol! only a lb difference in weight so not too bad, but have adjusted the travel to get 120mm out of them now so extra happy especially as the sid's are only hittin 80! give a bit more confidence!!! alothough, broke the shock pump lol! sio had to whizz down the road to borrow theirs to get them up to pressure to test!! serviced/cleaned up the sid's properly too seeing as one side didnt hold air and was Full of sh#tty muddy water! needs new wiper seals but as its not used now will be okay!!!
might get out for a blast on friday, if not will be monday as away at the weekend! :(

Are you looking to sell the Sid's?

    Might know someone interested

  • no mark not really, on inspection the stantions are pretty B#ggered on one leg and the other is starting to loose its shinyness in one spot, the rebound is non operable witht he twisty knob but set at a good rate, and it really needs new wiper seals, not really worth selling imo! i'll prolly keep hold of them as spares, the insides of the lowers are very rough too, not at all smooth likt they should but they arnt new so some to be expected,
they are the Old Sid's too! '03-06 era, (xc on the inside of the legs) and as such Uber flexy!!! good light weight fork but very flexy!
served me well for the £35 i paid for them mind!!! gotta love late night ebaying

i think more to the point, i wouldnt feel confident/comfortable/happy about selling them on, the bombers yeah no probs as they are great but now keeping lol! but the sid's i'll keep hold of for the above reason!
