    Back at ya! :P
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

  • Awesome route by les on dartmoor today, So deserved a three rating, techy, rock and root decents and lung busting climbs a plenty. Rode the pig for the first time since I converted her back from single speed. I was a little concerned as I'd done it in a rush post canada, she needed a new chain and things where a little graunchy on the bottom and top end to start initially. Had no probs on the ride tho! Actually she really surprised me on the most techy downwards facing terrain at how well she handled. Totally see the geometery is set up for balls out rock fest moorland terrain by the brain of brant. Also loved how the group kept moving and there was lots of positive energy and encouragment. It was nice to push the envelope too, this ride is the kinda ride I love - it's not all about balls out speed, but keeping upright and keeping going in super technical terrain, both pointing down and up! Must admit my legs died a death long before we reached the climax of the ride, I suffered for the last few miles, totally off pace, breathing out my arse and all power just dropped out of my world.

Also had a few rather unfortunate mechanicals, firstly killed my ragley cheeky ti saddle thusly xeqvh.jpg.scaled1000.jpg This is the second I've killed like this, it wasn't like I had it past the max fitting line on the seatpost clamp or anything. Love the shape, but two saddles in a year? I think I've gotta look at a similar shape in another brand (shame, I also love how it matches with the colourscheme!). The other mechanical was a little harder to figure, kept being chucked out of my candies half way down decents - I knew the cleats where fairly new, so I kept going.

When I got home tho I found what it was, can you spot it? 45433571.jpg.scaled1000.jpg ... yep I've bent the wing. Infact it's SO bent the wing cage wont rotate properly through the pedal. New candies time then! (If I can coax the old ones off that is!)

Reign is currently having a new headset, I got bored of either too loose and knocking or no steering at all. I've kinda decided to go for the replacement, I'm really hoping to get a few testrides of some of the frames I like - especially the Nicolai. There is no way I'm spending silly money on a bike I just end up hating.

    Big rich out...

Hi people. Doing a google search for 'Tregajorran' and thought I'd jump in here. Lived in the village in '89 and rode my custom bike over the Carn just about always. Used to ride the back of South Crofty, Carn Marth, the coast path to St Agnes and Tehidy - aw man, like everywhere! Good to see there's still plenty of access. :D

Im looking at popping down in March. I think i rode the Poldice valley and went past Unity Woods with the bitch (aka ex girlfriend) on some hired bikes from the bike barn.

Unity woods looked quite cool but as she could barely ride without stabilisers we didnt go in.

If anyone fancies meeting up in March please consider me and PM me if you fancy showing me some of the riding spots.

Never ridden properly in Cornwall but would love to give it a try.

  • Been a loooooong time since my last post but since getting hold of an 09 Fury i've been getting back in the saddle a bit and loving it. Bit of a difference to my old Norco Six but a whole lot of fun. Thought i'd bump this thread up as it looks a little rusty!
  • Hi, I have an 09 Fury too, be interested on how your getting on with. Had mine six months and have had to change a few bits and bobs. Bottom bracket has just gone so thats next on the agenda.
  • Yeah i'm loving mine. My lock out adjuster is faulty on the Epicon fork and i need to pop it off to lock the forks out but this is probably down to the wrong part fitted by halfords and it got me a few quid off in the shop. I've looked for a proper replacement part but with little joy. I've put on some wider Funn bars and some crank bros cobalt grips. Changed the saddle for a Spoon Charge and swapped the pedals for some V12 magnesiums. So far i'm really impressed with the bike and it seems to get more fun the harder you ride it....which is going to end badly i'm sure but so far so good.

Edit* Also the tyres, speed kings, are total puncture magnets!

  • Wow, didn't expect to see my last post from a year ago to be just a few posts up! I guess the rain has finally caused a mass Kernow retirement from riding? Anyway, surprised not to see any mention of Cardinham opening. I've yet to give it a go but I have a week off soon and intend to spend as much time ona bike as possible. Also just got a Cube Hanzz to go with my Fury to extend my scope a bit. Just wondering what Tehidy was like lately as I'Ve not ridden there for a while.
  • Give me a shout if ya fancy a tehidy sesh, in there most weeks, its Muddy and slippy at the mo but a Lot of fun!! I've been slowly clearing sections of mud as best I can and clearing the sdeep ections and also building some more log rolls over the tree felling work, still a fair bit to do mind, a Lot of people ride it but no one wants to help keep it useable!

This threads been very quiet since Many groups use facebook now so a Big forum post like this die a death! I gave up after I hit 1000 posts in This thread! cmtb on facebook is a nice busy little place as is cornwall free riders etc.

Cardinham has been long awaited, and yeah am suprised nothing has popped up here, But! Despite beiing some of the best Blue in the country at the mo in comparison to the major trail centres its a bit small fry!! The clubs up there this Sunday,
