Echo echo echo...!
55 minute ride about an hour ago - flipping hot still and two of the hills require standing (on the road bike) but lots of speed on the flats and downhill.
Used the MTB yesterday - loving the contrast between the two. And appreciating the power of MTB brakes!0 -
Here you go mark, just for you.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Nope, it stays on because the bars are carbon so id be worried about taking it on/off all the time, it's light anyway. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
Giant Anthem X0 -
thats because if you take it off you'll loose it lol!Timmo.

Dazza - I take my light off all the time on carbon bars - no problems to report. Not even a scratch.0
-
Aah but are you using jubilee clips. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
Giant Anthem X0 -
Just the Hope fitting it came with...
Jubillee clips on a carbon bar would scare me0 -
Yup that's why i refuse to remove it, taking it off all the time would have me worried about stress cracks, a few times should be fine though, it has a good bit of rubber protecting it anyway. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
Giant Anthem X0 -
always good to have a Good bit of Rubber Protecting it! :PTimmo.

Drink tastes OK, but my god that energy gel tastes absolutely gopping, and has a horrible texture! Recovery bar is OK though....0
-
What feels like man gel does it.
Blackrat just curious does your bike sqeeeeak.
Just got me some very long tyre levers from clive mitchells for the bargain price of £3.99, thinking about velcro patching them to the downtube to save carrying the pedros ones in the saddle bag.
Matt that saddle bag, good aren't they, i just needed one with a decent bit of size for my multitool and other bits trouble is it can obscure my rear led and i don't trust the strap on the back of the bag, i'll have to find a better method of securing it methinks. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

It takes a bit to swallow it, but it definately works.

What are they like for speed mark, they did say it would be a fast ride, but just how fast are they you know my ability.
I might throw on my mud x tyres but i dunno routes can be funny things i think my normal xc tyres should suffice or failing that use my fire xc pro's.The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
Giant Anthem X0 -
It'll be a quick-ish pace down to the cafe. Nothing that you are not capable of doing.
Probably up & over Carn Marth.
From the cafe, it is an easy ride for an hour or so.
Most of the ride will be on stoney ground, with a bit around Unity Woods (which doesn't seem to get that muddy), so a standard XC tyre will probably be fine.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

Ok no worries i'll see if i can drag myself from bed, speaking of which time to hit the sack.
Laters. 8)

Dazza - it is good. Got the "correct" rear light but also not 100% sure it will stay on - might get one of these bad boys and stick it on the rear seat stay.
Oh and I nipped into Truro to get some pasties and "accidentally" came back with a Lezyne Road Drive pump...

Well matt i have a blackburn mars, it has a clip but i don't trust it to stay there, i'll see if i can bodge it to the saddle rails first.
Pasties in a bike shop, bad idea very bad for me, although i am having a lovely sunday roast right now, but im starving as i had hardly nowt since i woke up, kinda crashed towards the end of the ride.
Mark, superb ride today, i fared much better than i expected though id imagine most of that would be the bike.
I had to go back to where i went off, sodding computer went flying found it in the end and it even started working, bonus although i was doing 40mph so i think the battery is a bit worn.
Next time my fixe xc's are going on unless it's bone dry, though the anthem performed superbly, even with my skinny 2.0's i had more grip than most folk on the climbs, really surprised me, running out of grip was always a pita on the tomac, no so now, just need to find a tyre that won't wash out with the bikes agility, something with nice high shoulders hmmmmm.
Anyway where did you bugger off to, i went back to the cafe, had a nice latte and flapjack but no sign of you anywhere. :?The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
Giant Anthem X0 -
Skinny 2.0s? I'm now on 1.8s and they grip SO well!
Spesh Sauserwinds - superb all rounders.0 -
1.8's!! thats close to winter tyre width!!
i have 2.1 onthe back and 2.25 fornt, used to be a 1.95 on the back but when i needed one they only had 2.1's!
had a ride aorudn tehidy earlier, forced my self out this avo although on hindsight perhaps i should have stayed in lol! just felt hard work! good fun mind but felt harder! (despite fgetting round int he same time) good fun on the Uber slippy roots though! NOT!!
met the good lady and littlun down portreath after for a coffee and muffin but didnt half pee down!!
on a plus note my replacement jockey wheel arrived friday and was duely fitted and now back to having no nasty noises again!!
planning a day resting tomorow! most likely Bed and bike forums! hahahha!Timmo.

Skinny compared to what they were running, im sure one guy was running 2.5's
Tyres are funny things, you can go through tons of reviews like i did with the black sharks only to find they're crap, From what i've read the spec's really don't like any form of mud, meant to be good everywhere else though.
The only tyres that seem consistent is the fire xc pro and the nobby nic, which wears fast, im keeping an eye out to see what else is about anyway. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
