XC in Cornwall - any willing volunteers ?

Did the 10k run (10.6k in fact) - bloody hell it was hard! Tree stumps to jump over, massive hills, over 100 steep steps to run up, streams to cross, etc, etc. Very serious runners too - most were club runners. I came 10th out of 150 with 50m5s (slow for a 10k but then the winning time was 44m - a road 10k is usually won in a time of 33m or so) and Mrs Matt did brilliantly - beat her very fit friend and came 83rd with 1h02m17s. Just done the morning ride to loosen up - worked an absolute treat!0

Sweet bike Dazza!! When are you taking it out for it's maiden voyage?
Is anyone free for a ride tonight in the bodmin area?Whyte 9050 -
Matt,
do you really want everyone down here in the summer.....let them think what they like....
in fact tell them to stay away.... :evil:0 -
It's fine - so long as they stick to Spewquay, St Ives and the usual tourist magnets...0

Mark - Yeah should be about before long i'll throw up the avids in the fs section today they should sell quite well along with the toras.
Maiden voyage err tomorrow possibly, i have a non delivery card here all i really want is the betd bushes fr my other fox and the kmc chain, i'll throw on the xtr mech and the hg50 today whilst the weathers good, the xtr cassette is worn as it didn't like a fresh chain then again it was a hyperglide, i'll probably break it by breathing on it, xtr chain i had only lasted 5 miles from new.
Actually kernow what is your stumpy like to ride, would be nice to try it, seeing the anthem is the epics direct competitor anyway.
Tim - did you say totty.
Matt- spewquay that's a new one.
Don't worry about them, from what i've heard devonians need a passport to cross borders anyway. :PThe trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Let's face it, we all know where not to go in the summer.
100 or 10,000 tourists in the same spot won't bother most of us, but it does bring much needed income to our local economy.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

And lets face it we're a side thought when it comes to politics, so any funding even from emmets is always welcome.
Shame they have to drive/behave like numpties though, likewise on the trails on occasion but that's another thread. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

when you look at it in the big picture, its only really 2 months of the year were inundated with them! and when most of the income from those 2 months keeps the places we love going through the winter its worth the annoyance factor!
the key to no numpties ont he trails is to ride hidden ones hahah!Timmo.

mmmmmmm nice road bike 8) . . . . . did you buy some lycra too?
Looks like they messed around with the specs again. The Elite used to be top of the range with 105 groupset. Clever marketing keeping the prices similar, but dropping the specs. It hides the fact prices are still increasing.
Matt, I'm not suggesting anything about your purchase, it is a great bike - you will really enjoy it. The point was aimed at their marketing etc.
If you fancy a long ride one Sunday, I'll meet up with you & carry on to Bissoe. I tend to ride there for the Sunday rides now. I'm MTBing tomorrow.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

Dazzza . . . . . . & anyone else
Meeting at the Factory shop in Reduth (near Bike Chain) tomorrow at 8am (yep - that is the time!). Good pace ride to Bissoe cafe, then an easy beginners ride for an hour or so, followed by a bit of a blast.
A very nice way to cover 20+ miles on a Sunday morning.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

Nice...but to early for me...will try to catch up on the friday night ride...

I wouldn't have made it anyway, took off my hg chain as i snap them easy and currently awaiting my kmc 9sl.
I've put the pushed rp23 on as the betd bushes arrived, that has made quite a noticeable difference. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Mark - yep I did notice it's the same as last years Sport but that's plenty for us. And it's nice and red.
No pics yet as it's being built tomorrow but the board looks like this (the ugly thing behind it is an original Rod Sumpter longboard - gross but apparently collectable!):
6ft x 19" for the surfers amoung us!0 -

If any of you have been looking for VERY fast XC tyres, just got the new Spesh Sauserwinds. They only come in 1.8s but absolutely fly. They won a Singletrack group test recently - highly recommended. Also bought some slicks (Nimbus 1.5s) for our next tri. Mrs Matt is going to use the road bike, I'm on the Stumpy with slicks. Uh oh...0
-
Are you doing Hayle Sprint?
I just joined Dales bike club.
No fee, but you have to buy a very nice, good quality top (£35).
Then I ordered some Conti tyres for the road bike (at cost price).
I think I'll be ordering some Conti Speed Kings soon.
Oh, got a free MOT too.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50
