    Thanks Timmo
  • great fun ride yesterday around mount hawke, despite the Super arrogant i can do no possible wrong horse rider! (old lady) who despite what you said turned everything into our fault! even the white van spooking the horse became our fault, twice!!
but never the less, we cracked on and rode some great trails, and especially Howled down the track to chapel porth, awsoem section that!
really good fun! had that warm feeling insde when i got home and a nice windburny feeling outside!!!

next week is a tehidy ride, two loops of the tracks in the woods, just a bit of fun if anyones interested!

mbnut, hope you had a good run down if you can read this! will drop you a text later matey!

Did she have her hair tied back and had a real toffee nosed accent?
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

  • she ws old and wrinkly dazz, Full of attitude! was a bit toffee nosed, lives in Mounte Hawke too by all accounts (neighbour of the guy that came for his first club ride),
she moaned that we didnt make our selves known to her, Which if we had wanted to pass her we would have done, But! as we were only mooching along the track and in no rush, we sat behind her at a decend distance, in the time we followed her, all chatting away she didnt attempt to look behind her and see what the voices were!
she said we should have Shouted to let her know we were there, yet she could barely control the horse when the van which it could see spooked it let alone us shouting from behind it! she didnt seem to grasp that a, we werent in a rush to pass so left her trot along, b, we didnt want to spook her horse by yelling at her when thining of A, c, she made no attempt to check her surroundings, and also, finally, she was Very rude to all of us, made no attempt to listen to our reasoning (she had the typical snotty horsey attitude of i am always in the right not you - brother married into a horsery set and said attitude became very apparant of all the horsery people we had the misfortune of meeting!) and wouldnt let us past! blocking the track with the animal, when she eventually moved clear of the junction on the track we passed her safely, but she had little control over the horse that it kicked out and caught yestins bike!

as much as many pedestrians complain of the minority of cyclists, she was the minority of horsey set that ruin it!

coincidentally we passed a coupl eof other horses whilst out and they were spot on! one riding fine along the road with cars passing her closely with no effect to the animal and a cheery hello as we passed!

    Hello Timmo

Seems like you get a odd pain in the backside rambler/horse rider no matter where you ride, we get the odd one up in kent.... they probably feel the same about us dreadful mountain biking types!!

Looking forward to thursday so send me a text or call and we'll arrange a meeting point.

I can start anytime from 09:30 and i have to be back in Helston by 14:30.

    Cheers

Hmm i know there's one that rides on the bissoe tram lines that is very well known for upsetting the locals and funnily enough her horse was very spookable, had a right barney at me that was until i mention the lack of high vis gear warning of the horse not to mention red tag for it being a kicker.

She promptly shut up then as she never expected a fellow horse rider to be riding an mtb.

Thing is what on earth was she doing riding a spookable horse on one of the busiest trails on cornwall.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

  • dazz, some of them think they are beyond reproach matey! does appear that a ot of horsey types believe because they ride a horse they ar eof a higher being to other lesser cyclists etc.

brothers wedding was a complete Nightmare, room of horsey people and a room of sailing peoples! really didnt mix at all!

Used to run and MTB ride with Mrs Matt when she was horseriding around Frogpool - what a great horse that was!

No big rides for me this weekend but has this surf on Saturday (tis me in the top pics):

Then did a 8.5 miles coast run around Polzeath on Sunday - BRUTAL hills and legs still aching but it was stunning weather and one of my all time favourite bits of coast (grew up around there). 1hr 4mins so 7.5 minute miles - fairly happy with that as it was so damn challenging! Would be fun but almost deadly on a bike!

Still doing my 10m a day on the bike.
  • awsome pics matt! looks like a classic surfing day! shame the last one's slightly out of focus, would be a great pic! greta times for the running! especially on that terrain!

if anyone else is interested, quick blast around tehidy on thursday and down to the bike barn, possibly up to cambrose for some bridleways and back, 10:30 meet at east lodge carpark tehidy, meeting mbnut there!

Timmo - he errrrrrmmm loves it!

It's electric but has a "brushless" motor (98% efficient as opposed to 48%) which means it's nitro quick - especially when I put my mad new battery in it (11.1v) - just on charge. I'm a bit nervous as they can explode if not treated correctly! You have to charge them in a fireproof "lipo sack!"
  • haha! yeah just seen on FB! awsome matey! lipo's can be dangerous but Serious fun too! will make it Silly quick hahah!
used to run my emaxx on brushless but returned it to stockish after getting a little bored of bits breaking lol! now run it on a Dwealt drill 970 motor! (std one was 550 sized!) Awsome fun!
