Any Cornish riders going to Bike Radar Live?
I can't decide if it's worth travelling that far and if I do what event to enter.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

Have just got shoes to cope with the mud - for running!
They are SUPERB!
Had a bent wheel on the Stumpy. Took it into a certain LBS, got it back (new tyre and hubs sorted) and it seems they have FORGOTTEN to true it - the main reason it went in! Strong words coming up tomorrow.
Been using Mrs Matt's Rockhopper Disk - it's actually really good and a lot less nervous down hills than mine.
Doing an offroad tri in Devon in May if anyone fancies it as well as a vicious 10k coastal running race in April.0 -
Matt
What's the Devon off road tri?

Glad you enjoyed the One & All ride. This is the first week of 2009 that I haven't gone. I went to Bodmin for the North Cornwall Tor taster - only to find it was cancelled!
You realise next Sat is Valentines day? . . . . It kinda restricts my ability to go out riding (and have a home to go back to afterwards) . . . . will you be on the road ride on the Sunday?Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

Got a new (to me) bike last night,a Norco Six 1 off a guy in Helston...stunning bike, took it to Poldice today and it blew me away with the way it rode,it just soaked up everything in it's path....i was less capable however and managed to get my whole body in a muddy puddle on a good crash and came home muddier than the dog!
God it's good to back riding again!0 -

Well to start with, a big Hello to everyone on here from me. Looks like you had a good time two weeks ago from the pics
Anyway I have recently moved down to Cornwall from incredibly flat Lincolnshire and am eager to once again take to some single track under peddle power!
I have access to a reasonably capable hardtail (sold my GT due to lack of use!) and would like to take part in the ride along the Lode Trail on Sunday. I think i know which carpark to meet in but i'm not 100% sure as i have only taken an intelligent guess from looking at google maps lol. If i'm correct its the odd shaped "carpark" off Filtrick Lane near a set of old buildings with no roofs.... hmmm descriptive i know. If anyone can shed some light on exactly where it is i would appreciate it.
Hope to see some of you there
Cheers

Tony,
firstly, welcome to this fine land! there is Mucho good riding hidden about!
where abouts are you based matey??
yeah i think its the 'Odd' looking carpark matey! looks kinda like a crop circle style!
if your coming up from the Carn brea side then it is sign posted, pass the pub on the left and its on the right hand side 400yards or so??
at the mo i think i'll ride up as isnt too far, although is a long old drag up hill! so if you see a cyclist not on a road bike give a toot hahah! (although i may wimp out and nick the car!!)Timmo.

Well I went for a little drive today to locate this car park and it is indeed the one I found on google maps, love that website hah so I will be there no probs.
I am living in Pool at the mo, so will be coming from there. I will defo be riding up tho because my car is far to small to accommodate a bike! Give me a toot as well
Maybe we'll spot each other on the way up.

Tony, i got a 2 bike rack out the classified in the west briton for £15 last year, so much easier than loading it in the car especially with the littluns car seat!
i suspect Charly will be riding up too as he's only in 'Druth so could be a few of us to toot at! dont know if any of the Kerrier mtb guys off facebook will come along?? will drop then a message just incase,
just make sre you have tow ropes at the ready hahahah!Timmo.

Was it Jane that punctured today? Didn't see the bike as we passed, but saw Jane standing.
Our group did nearly 53 miles today. Not content, I decided to run 2.5 miles on the trail at Bissoe. I am aching a 'little' now.
Looking forward to Wednesday - especially as there aren't many nights left for night riding now.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

I wanna do a few triathlons this year, so need to train my legs to run after cycling. Or should I say, train my mind to use the different muscles for running?Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

Oh yes!
There's no weirder feeling than your mind & body moving forwards, but you legs taking a second or so to catch up.
Anyone got any plans foran evening ride next week?Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50
