I'd have though 'The Stinger' would be ideal for you:

As for Specialized bikes - not only Clive Mitchells, but also Cycle Logic and (where most seem to be bought) Certini sell 'em.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

Transporter - oops, sorry about that.I used to do a lot of the rides but a baby boy has made it more tricky - tend to go out on my own or with Kyle these days.
Full sus Stumpy or HT? I have a 2007 HT Comp (with mild blinging) and love it!
FSR Stumpy and love it as for the transporters you don't get the same following in the T5s as you get in the T4s, T4 owners wave to each other a bit like the old VDubs although Niges would blow mine down the stairs and same goes for his bike0 -
Mark - probably being blind but what date is that?!
Transporter - Dad's got a T25 with a 2.1i engine (so it's not toooo slow), mega Alpine ICE, really good pop top camper conversion, fat tyres and alloys, etc - looks pretty cool and I get to borrow it on occasion. My sister and bro in law have a semi converted T5 130PS on 18" alloys - had the windown conversion and a proper steel bed/rear seat fitted as well as some units. Both are pretty cool.
I looked into getting a 174PS Transporter but got a quick diesel estate instead. Those vans are very pokey but a half decent car is still a lot quicker!0 -

Mine is a w reg 2.5 tdi 88bhp but seems a lot faster :? I've converted it with insulation, carpets, bed, cupboard with double burner, windows, bike rack and just lowered it.
Home is were you park it could never have another car, unless a nice mk1 golf gti came my way0 -
Mark - oops!
Might be a bit close. Think I need to up the training a bit.
Transporter - as a bit of an old git (33!) I'm afraid I rather like the comfort of hotels and B&Bs now. But I do enjoy borrowing my Dad's camper once in a while.0 -

You ride &/or run nearly every day.
That's more training than I do!

Mark - ahem, maybe
Going to do a few races this year and see what happens. Set a PB for running a certain route the other day so not too bad fitness wise.
Don't you ride about 500 miles a week or something silly? I only do 50-80 depending on how much I do at the weekends.0 -
MAtt, you out for Andy's Birthday ride this sunday????Timmo.

Not sure - where is it?0
-
I ride 50-80 miles at the moment.
Normally around 45-50 on Sunday's, a night ride (if someone is going) of around 12 and around 20 miles on the turbo.
When it gets lighter and I'm working in St Austell I will be doing around 40 miles (a couple of days) a week.

Mark - I do a similar riding distance but also about 8-10 miles a week trail running, 2 x 1 hours weights, surfing if there is any and probably 10 miles walking the dog. Oh dear - I'm an exercise geek!
Timmo - got friends over (AGAIN!!) so might be tricky, Would love to do that ride though - might have to wait a bit.0 -
well, you could always let them all go for a walk from the pub and then have Lunch there after! meaning you get to hoon on the bike and they get a Nice walk! Win Win Baby!Timmo.

T4Forum are some of our biggest supporters! It's at Newnham Park in Plymouth, I hear a lot about it being a big centre for MTBing, but can you just go there and ride? If so where?
Found a good track round the Tamar near Gunnislake yesterday (well good for me). Slowly discovering places I can go near me (Callington), but if anyone's got any suggestions would love to hear them
Cheers

Don'T think you can turn up to ride as its private land, its only open on race days and other days is for clay pigeon shooting, it used to be anyway.0 -
Obviously, organising the Volkswagen show there I know the owner of the land, as we have to pay him lots of money! There is a shooting club there. I have seen people riding around there when I've been there for meetings/setting up the show, I'll find out more...

No, I'm not, would like to meet up some time, but onyu been doing this MTBing stuff since Christmas, trying to get a bit fitter!! Went out with a mate & my son today, drove up the top of Kitt Hill then all downhill to Gunislake, then round to Calstock, quick pint then caught the train back up to Gunnislake and ride home..pick the car up, excellent..I've realise that its like skiing, what I mean is you go to the ski resort on your first day and look at the black run and thin "sh** I'll never get down that", by day three you're flying down it, was really going for it today...:D
If there's anyone near me who wans to go out (and isn't very fit) give us a shout, I go out Tuesday morning and Sat or Sun.
Cheers
