Timmo - doh! However you still cannot beat the stupidity of a recent injury (this beats setting fire to my own hand when at Uni...):
At a stag do in Bristol about 6 weeks ago, many beers consumed so decided it was time to "show off" my gymnastic skills (I can do all sorts of wierd balance handstand type stuff off things) - so found a 4ft high wooden wall/partition with a shoulder-width gap and pushed up into a handstand (from a hanging "legs out in front" position) - much clapping and cheering as I somehow held it and dropped gently back down.
BUT three people missed it so asked me to do it again - so I did. Held it for longer this time, then overbalanced... and for some reason lost grip and head-dived directly onto the concrete surface landing directly on my ear and clipping my back on a very solid bar stool.
Very nearly ripped my ear off (horrible slice across it, a lot of skin hanging off) and walloped my back so badly that I was hobbling around for two days - now THAT is stupid0 -
Yup, your right, that is stupid hahahah!
but UDI's rock! (unidentified Drunken Injuries!!)Timmo.

Timmo - you seem to be singlehandedly "running" this thread now!
Had a great solo ride around Idless on Saturday. Stupidly stupidly muddy and the roots were at their slipperiest! Had inlaws and my parents round for lunch yesterday so spent the morning cooking and cleaning! Rather suprised myself by cooking pretty decent focaccias from scratch (made the dough, etc) ! Managed to fit in a short morning run.
Any injuries yesterday?!0 -
yeah did seem the cornish lot have gone a little quiet now the weathers a bit nicer! ish!! somehting other than ponder around the net lol!
I was very pleased to report no injuries at all on the last two rides! with the exception of thorns everywhere on my finger tips from a thorny section and fingerless gloves! haha!
this coming sundays should be a good one though!!
i just thought if i post in here it will bump it back up to page one in the rides section lol!Timmo.

I had my 1st ride with the Cornwall mtb club yesterday and enjoyed every bit, I love mud but think I need to invest in a pair of shin guards next time Lol, dint know what every one would be like with me being a newbie but they all seem like a great bunch and well organised, will definitely be at the next one.
Cheers,

Is that Andy with the White transporter?? or the blue one that was there?? and the same person that rode to the top of the wrong hill with me and Rich3?? (me being the one at the back by the top hahaha!) was a good ride! and glad to say the humour's the same on all rides!!
i learnt my lessons about shin gaurds!! my legs are a terrible state from riding without them!! ( i got mine from Chainreationcycles for a tenner, but they are a bit 'power rangery'!)Timmo.

Looks like my photo job has been rained off at the weekend (well flooded), so I could very well be coming out on a ride.
Around Carclaze might be a bit flat. If I done come along, I'll probably ride there.
Matt - you still up for the Tehidy Challenge thing in October?

Depends on what the weather is like, rumour has it the weather will pick up come end of this month but we'll see.
For now im hitting the gym to get my exercise, haven't ridden the bike for close to three weeks now. :?
But on the upside i have an interesting bike light on the way, could prove interesting once the dark nights set in.The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Want to do Idless on Sun am?
Ride followed by a run?
Happy for anyone to join us, but have an idea of a loop that I would like to try (2 laps of) and only stop for crashes!Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

I might be up for a ride this Sun, that's if I can get my rear brake sorted, bled it bout a doz times now and cant seem to get it to work properly, may have to take it to Clive Mitchells and spend some money0
-
It looks like some at looking at Dunmere on Sunday too.
If Matt is going to Idless, we won't 'rest' as much as the club normally do.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50

Mark - I'm up for that. What sort of distance shall we go? Can plot a route out now I have my computer thingy. Mine to Idless is 4.3 miles (almost all road) - a usual ride to Idless, a circuit or two and back is about 12 miles, then I have several routes here we could run - 5km, 7km and 10km - all trail all quite full on but quite nice!
Just two things - we have people over (AGAIN!!) so will have to make sure with wife and I'm sure it will be gone by then but I seem to have a minor cold... :oops:0 -
Matt
Wanna meet 8.30 at Truro park (or whatever it's called)?
12miles sounds ok - x2 circuits. Be nice to compare thoughts on the route in Idless, but happy to follow your ideas.
5 or 7km run (10 might be a bit much first time out)
Happy to have a few join us, but I wasn't planning on any real stops.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50
http://www.visiontrack.com0 -
Will clear the 8.30 time (!) with wife but should be okay - possibly 9.30 might be more allowed though...!
The run almost passes the park so that would be ideal. Will see if I can get Kyle along too.0 -
Anyone not going to Wales or Idless and fancies a ride, see you at Borough Arms car park, Bodmin 0930 on Sunday. A few new riders showing interest, might be a good mornings ride.
Hope to see you there.0
