haha mark wasnt that you in the yellow?! i think i saw matt with a moustache in the background too.

i dont think it was the blue oyster bar he wanted to race to. more a race to masculinity, which sadly is unachievable on a road bike

    Ade, no that's not me.

Being a 'roadie', I'm the one in lycra holding the camera.

Dazzza / Steve - nice ride last night. Different & quite technical in places.
Looks like there is a fair bit more to explore around there too.

  • Dazza,
Found the man main trail from Bisseo that leads you to the start of the ride you took us on Mon....

Very good and a great view..need to try and find a ridable trail that takes you to the top of the first tor..any ideas..there must be one...get better soon...

Skyline is a waste of time. It's all about the White's, Penhydd and the Wall

I found an excellent cottage equidistant between both trail centres, with a 3 miles ride to get you warmed up

Umm from caharrack, if you head for gwennap pit i know around that way you can jump onto carn marth which will lead you to where we met monday gone.

I'll ask my dad, he was brought up in lanner so will know the area better than i would, i will have a nose around once im better to see whatever trails i can find.

Sorry I've not been for two weeks - was ruined after last weeks stag do, then the surf finally worked all weekend so spent most of my days in the sea.

Still doing my weekday rides though - got rather soaked this morning!

    Should be there this weekend.

    Hope everyone is okay,

  • Dazza,

not explaining myself...can get to the start of your ride no probs...good route. carn marth lane which you thought leads you to caharrack... it does..lovely
...its the track on your ride that lead us up the hill...starts a little stoney then you have to get off and walk...can you avoid that one?

sorry i cant be more specific than that..will have to ride it again...

I'm up for doing any longer runs for the next few weekends.

Dare I say - even 'road riding' on 'road bikes'.

    I've just entered Helston Triathlon on 11th May & need to train a bit . . . . .

    I hope to start swimming this week . . . . . .

And I'll have to do a bit of running some time too.

Mark - where does the swim take place in the Helston tri?

    Please don't say Porthleven!

Trying to trim my daily ride time down as much as possible. Currently 10 miles in 40ish mins but there are lots of hills!

Now my heads a bit clearer i can better explain.

Right you know where we turned right for carn brea on that rocky bit, instead head straight on, from there it's all downhill until you hit some houses, there you turn right and head along the bottom of carn brea and back towards near that downhill rocky section we did, the downside is that you miss that rocky downhill we did.

But there are plenty of routes around there so with others riding it im sure it won't take too long to learn other routes. :)

Im thinking of heading down leedstown way, that and carnell green, there are a ton of bridleways down that way and i have no idea where they lead, i wouldn't mind going with a group even if it's for a scouting exercise with an os map.

There's nothing worse than going down an area you don't know, last time i did this i got chased by a pitbull. :x

Portreath is another area i know.

but all being well and good i'll do the run tomorrow, provided ive shifted this bug, the weather is looking good tomorrow.

It's 400m (16 lengths I think) of Helston swimming pool.

16.5 miles out past Culdrose on the bike & then a 3.5 mile run.

    So you entering?

    Sounds like a sprint triathlon.

My running is not quite back to speed yet after my knee trouble - think I'd get a cack time.
    But will think about it!

Timmo - I checked straight after posting. If I had lighter coloured (or in fact ANY) hair, I'd call it a blonde moment

Will be at Idless for some crazy mud action. :D
