I know quite a few routes around Bisseo, mainly cross counrty...depends how long people want to go out for...dont want to step on anyones toes so to speak but happy to do a lead ride...either long 27miles from Truro or meet at Bisseo and do a 12/15 mile ...was going to ride it this weekend anyway.. :)

    Typical!

    I'm not here this weekend.

27 miles sounds great too. I want / need to do more of these longer rides.

Matt - for Bissoe, park at Smokey Joe's (or the layby if they are in a mood).

Quite keen (only because I know it) on approaching from the other (Bissoe) end and doing some sly parking near the cafe/cycle place car park.

Anyway, hopefully someone will take charge and sort it, then I can decide whether to go on Sunday (or if I need to stay in bed)!

  • ok how does this sound...meet at Bisseo 9.30am Sun...will plan a 15 mile mostly off road, mud...rocks...mud...roots....more mud !!!that sort of ride...if we want to make it longer thats not a problem....or shorter...I will park at Ricci cafe as Iam lucky enough to have a permit...but there are lots of places to park near so you dont have to pay...is that a plan? happy to make any changes ....

I can ride down to ricci cafe not a problem, if i get there nice and early i might grab me a pre ride coffee to boot. :)

Folks, i have found us a route, it's around carnkie, then back around on the carn brea side, it's longer than it sounds but i can extend it by having a ride around carn marth should anyone wish, i managed to retrace some of the routes i did when horseriding.

Just something else too add to the list, it's basically another stretch of the flat lode trail that is devoran/bissoe.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Oh that's easy, call it 9am by mount ambrose roundabout, the one by brymor factory shop.

No point in my dragging the car out for just a few miles.

Would love to join you guys on this one but me and the missus have to get Brownie points with the vicar this sunday so unfortunatley I'll have to give it a miss. We'll be back with a vengeance the week after though!!! I'm going to look into Bissoe again for a future ride I'm sure there's more to be had I just need to do a bit of recce. If anyone is up for a ride on saturday I'm planning on getting out for a bit of a blast.

I'm interested in doing the Carnkie area.

I am in Redruth on Monday. Does anyone fancy a ride about 6.30pm? (I'm in a meeting until then).

I 'should' be able to manage monday, work depending of course, i'll pm you my mobile just incase you start wondering if im nipping out.

I wont be going bonkers though as i still plan to do the sunday ride and will naturally be tired from it, might throw some caffeine down my neck to give me a kick up the arse we'll see. :)

It's a good ride, a bit mixed, mainly bridleways like bissoe but the carn brea run is quite steep and rocky in places, made for an interesting ride yesterday, i still have one stretch im not 100% on so i may wander just to check a path im hoping will be there, the one i chose was a tad rocky.

It's different to the other areas ive ridden which i find great, it starts top of lanner hill where the old garage was.

God im nuts, im off out again tomorrow weather permitting and then the sunday ride.

On the upside i am feeling quicker for it though, may get back to racing fitness, we'll see too late for the newham 90 though and too heavy anyway.

Here are some pics of the area just to give anyone an idea.

It'd be an "easy" 50 miles (if there is such a thing)....I know that area well.

    I'd be up for it

I fancy sunday @ Bissoe too, Smokey Joes is the only place I know...

The ricci cafe is easy to find, just ride down towards bissoe, it's situated on the trail itself.

I emailed Andy about this, to see if he'd put it on our site.

If I'm free I'll be supporting it.
