Formulas do seem to win every current disk brake test so they must be pretty good!

Good, they're damn impressive, i had my lever pop out when i came off not long ago, a bit of adjustment to the lever and it popped right back in, you won't see hope's pulling that one off.

Bite, adjustment you name it all superior, hope are all too hit and miss for my liking, the m4 range tbh is not powerful enough, has no adjustment and bleeding is a right pita.

The bleeder on the formulas is just a syringe and a brass nipple to click into the lever, dead simple, hope's my little bleeder is a proverbial nightmare.

Juts have a look at the reviews of formula oro brakes or the k24 which gets a good mention.

I have the oro piro's as the bianco's were all sold out, fitting was a doddle, hope pinched formulas caliper fitment on their new trials discs.

I'll admit im not a hope fan, i loved their old c2 system with the pro lever but the m4's ugh.

Im coming this sunday should you want to test them, hell if you rode my bike at treliske you already would have bought them ;)

Ive sorted the scoob for the time being, i just have camber bolts to fit on the rear, then off to the garage for the laser geometry setup.

    See you all sunday

Im certainly coming along, got me a new xtr shifter as the adjuster is broke on the other one making it a royal pita to fine tune it, kept on skipping gears when trying to use two of the climbing gears i use.

Just got back from gupa-p in plymouth to have the geometry sorted, car is now lovely.

Going to do the full route (24m) tomorrow but will give clear directions for the shorter route in the morning.

Planning on a full pelt mission if that's okay with any of the "full routers!"

    P-p-p-pick up a puncture!

Had a beauty snakebite from riding on grass...(maybe I ran over an adder :? )

Good riding, though I have reached the conclusion that I am unfit.
  • hahah!including Shan's slow puncture i think we had 9 in total today! (shane told me as he road past towards the end loL!)
was quite amusing purely by the amount of punctures! and your fitter than me so dont worry too much loL!
Good fun ride though! and a lot of good humour again! Mind you, riding up an exposed feild with a strong Northerly and Snow needs a good sence of humour!;)

Sorry about that guys! Think that DH section that took out Adrian (at the end) was the main culprit - rather thorny!

Nice one Adrian, Andy, Lee (I think) and new bloke (sorry, name forgotten!) for doing the steps - wife saw it too so you had a small audience!

Now I must learn how to do "stunts" sometime... :D

Mark - got rather interesting after you left. Me, get lost? Of course not... :lol:

FYI - new lad was Ross (Cannodale Prophet).

    Matt, you had a map. . . . .

. . . . and we were talking about an adventure race - that included orienteering!

Timmo - oops! Seemed like almost everyone else got a flat.

Those steps are a bit of a slog. I've run up them with the bike. Don't think I'll try it again.:lol:

i did enjoy those steps as a challenge. although ill say its more fun to come down them. as for the run i sacked that off last night, but got 6 miles running in this mroning so feeling pretty fresh and knackered. didnt see you leave mark yesterday but hope the ride home was good.

whats next on the ride list. im afraid newquay is not all that great for mountain biking. i need to explore the south of it a bit more.

Might have to dip out this weekend - Stag do on Saturday night so expecting to be a gibbering wreck on Sunday.

Should be on the next ride.

Could always do a "stop gap" ride when we can't think of anything specific - just larking around Bissoe or Idless for a couple of hours?

id love to hit bissoe as i missed out on that 'extreme' ride and you know how i like to extreme it up (fall off) hahaha

and matt you know exercise is the best way to cure a hang over, that and a pint

Will see how I feel - as you can probably guess, I'm a drinking lightweight in the extreme.
I also suffer from hangovers so badly that I think I should have my own "post hangover drip" to cart around with me.

Bissoe is very rocky so hurts when you fall off - but it's superb fun :D

  • could be a good idea to have a bissoe ride if nothing else comes up! was a good crack around there!

Matt, get on! you know the ride will burn off those additional calories from the Beerage the night before!;)

Trouble is there are only so may routes you can take, i know there's a run i can take up carnkie/carn brea area which is another area of the flat lode trail, i'll nip out sometime and see if i can't knock up a decent route.

Plenty of horseriding in that area, even four lanes has some bridleways i might still know of back when i rode baron, we'll see. :)

F'k it. Bissoe ride or anywhere.

    Aggy loop?

Haldon forrest for those with a taste of adventure?
  • know what your saying Dazzz, but is also a bit about improving on your skills too, if nothing comes up then there's plenty of oppertunity for a blast around there!

nearly suggested tehidy and ablast down to portreath through gwell an more and up through the tree line in illogan woods, but know tehidy was only a couple of weeks back and to get to the tree line in ill. woods its proper gloopy nigh on impossible ride through mud as tis a bot of the horse track!

I'll happily ride anywhere really! gave the discs a scrub and cleaned the pads after a little of a poor show on the brakes on sunday and got the rear pad pin out too after some drilling and a long punch and hammer!;) so they should be all good now! (new retaining pins due in the morning!) maybe an adapter and a bigger front may be called for though!;)

Plenty of riding left to explore in Bissoe.
We left out the main open cast mine area last time (below where the DH boys fixed Mark's broken brake) - huge area of drops, jumps and climbs.

  • I know quite a few routes around Bisseo, mainly cross counrty...depends how long people want to go out for...dont want to step on anyones toes so to speak but happy to do a lead ride...either long 27miles from Truro or meet at Bisseo and do a 12/15 mile ...was going to ride it this weekend anyway.. :)

Helen - sounds like a good idea :D

Done to Malpas - Portreath ride a couple of times. Great fun if a big ride is ever on the cards.
Could be a plan to meet at Bissoe but park nearby to avoid paying Ricci £3!
