Can't do the Dartmoor ride as we have a big weekend planned in Porthcurno (camping - loads of us) and can't do this Sunday due to family commitments/imminent hangover.

Darn, darn and darn again

Will be on the next Sunday ride and still doing the daily 10 miler but it's not quite the same on my todd!

    Have fun everyone!

No worries, i just hope you have swapped inner tubes by now. ;)
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

hahaha not yet but i have some new ones to go in before. that and a complete new set of pads for brakes so could be a noisy ride while they bed in!

I may fit some new ones to the rear, i have got some formula sintered pads i may give a try for that extra bite plus i have a gorgeous xtr shadow mech to fit tomorrow or saturday.

Why not try those slime innertubes, slightly heavier but you've seen yourself how few punctures i recieve, keeping pressures decent help a lot as well.

    See you sunday helen. :)

Just in case I can make it on Sunday (probably the Bissoe ride), what time are you all meeting up?

An Mark - what time on Monday?

Surf looking pants again so need a riding fix.

Easiest place for monday would be top of lanner hill near the old garage and water bowser.

Mark has my mobile number, if anyone wants i can pm it to them

There's a road right on top of lanner hill that leads towards the old garage, 200 yards up this hill there is a small parking area, that is where the ride will start, it has room for about 4 maybe 5 cars.

There is further room down on sandy lane which is a few hundred yards away should it be needed, but i know the area well so there shouldn't be any problems.

Anyway i'll sit on top of lanner hill to help folks find their way. :)

Put this text into google maps for the location as it doesn't recognise the road.

My meeting will finish around 6.30pm (earlier, if I can help it).

I need to get from Carn brea to Lanner - so I guess meet @ around 6.30 if that's ok with everyone????

    Dazzza

    Is that alright?
& where the 'eck is Lanner Hill?
Looking at map I guess it's the road between Redruth & Lanner, but the old garage????

  • from redruth town centre, aim for Falmouth, follow the road up through a set of traffic lights and upto a roundabout, (sandy lane is the road on the left!) straight over and you should see a terrace ofapproximately 5 houses on the right that the end one is Very close to the house next door to it, that is the old garage site! there is a lane that runs down the other end of the terrace!

    hope that helps!

    *edit*
    this might help!

Timmo, good effort but it's the next lane up, that is private land lol, i'll be in the area should anyone get lost anyway, and i'll be on the top of lanner hill all geared up until 6.30pm anyway.

so long as you make it on time you'll be fine. :)

Not long got back from cardiff, bike now has an xtr cable in silver lol, i had no choice as the nokon was too short to reach the mech.

Bike has all been sorted and is fighting fit for tomorrow, can't wait to give it a spin. :)

It was a good ride, for both parties involved, plenty of mud action meant i was screaming out for some decent mud tyres but the fires held on admirably.

Weather was quite kind to us as well, i expected far worse tbh, i think we did about 20 miles today while it was 28 for me.

I had to ride up cusgarne hill after helen/jane and the others went back home, that was fun, nothing but uphill for me, i did the lanner/carnkie run then headed to pool and barncoose to hose the bike down.

Then i headed off to timmo's for a natter as it's been a while, whilst being fed copious amounts of decaf coffee while watching touring car.

Thanks for the lift back timmo, i was a fair bit tight after sitting down a while lol, remind me to return the favour at some point maybe a beer token or two perhaps.

See you for the ride tomorrow folks. :)

Sounds like I missed some good rides
Warm - what happened? Anything broken?

A great stag do (golf then serious boozing in Truro) but I was a broken man yesterday!
Only managed a run in the evening once I could stand again.

Might not be able to to tonight as I've already done my daily 10 miler but hoping to do Sunday.
