Top ride - cheers guys, I really enjoyed that. It took me 90 minutes to get all the leaves out of my gears though! Looking forward to seeing the photos and video 8)

Nice lazy afternoon ahead of me now. I thought about going back in when we finished but decided against it at the first thought of doing any more uphill

Enjoy Bedgebury next week. Hopefully I'll be able to join you over there soon!

Andy - I'm well up for an evening ride if I can get some decent lights for Christmas!
  • Glad you had a good ride guys. I did too. Did around 55K but with my commute to blean and back it totalled 77K! I'm a little dead to say the least!

Hope to catch up with you all soon.

77K? That's a few more than we managed

Sure we'll be out again soon - hope you can make it next time! Might be a little shorter than 77K though...

77k sod that! I did 17 miles over the south downs, friston (finding some of the hidden locals trails), etc, that was enough!

Off to Bedgebury thursday night for a pitch black, mind the werewolves ride with my friend :)

Cool :D . I am over there every day now so when you get some lights sorted just pm me before 5 and we'll arange to meet. I can't wait to ride with someone who dosn't have to stop every 5 minuts to have a heart attack! Riding with Kent Trails this Thursday, so hopefully they won't kill me.

Breezer- How much did your home made lights cost to make? I am thinking of making some to fit on my bars, then use my current light on my helmet.

Right, i'm off to repair yet another puncture!!! My own fault this time though, was bunny hopping a curb and cought the rear wheel right on the edge of the curb  I must go tubeless one day, i'm sick of pinch flats!

    Andy.

Not to worry pony, i work shift work so i have to work every other weekend which is a pain but it means i get loads of time off, most of it during the weekdays though. Im off this weekend coming though so fingers crossed i should be able to make it to Bedgebury for the early morning ride.

That Helmet cam footage is not bad for a stcuk on job! maybe look up a bit higher next time

Just got back from Blean, did a good loop and managed to fall off twice, once over the front and once skidding on the carpet of leaves thats there.

Heres a pic from this morning.

Nice pic - sounds like a good morning out :D Is that the section between Dunkirk and Dargate? Great views from there.

Gutted i'm not going to be able to make Bedgebury this time but am still planning a ride this weekend if i can manage it. Who knows - I might even try some helmet-cam footage of my own now i've seen how easy it is!

Andyturner: I did a post earlier in this thread I think. Light was premade for £20 ish off ebay, extra MR16 bulbs ie 20w are 85p, bit of wiring then rc car battery packs in an old water bottle, anything from £25 for a couple of cheap packs to £50 for ones that last ages. Can get a cheap slow charger and do them seperately or spend up to £50 on a charger than can do both packs at once. 20w running over volted is way brighter than my friends 20w flood+10w spot lumicycle with its smaller bulbs, I just need to get better batteries as mine were cheap and are dying, only get just over an hour from them but its enough for a thrash

    Hi guys,

Still can’t make Bedgebury, but if anyone fancies a trundle around Blean on Saturday then let me know. I can be flexible with times, although its been a long week so would rather not make it TOO early
  • Hey guys,

not totally sure about Bedgebury on Sun morning, got a fairly busy weekend coming up but it'd be cool as I'd love to do it with some decent tyres on the Giant. Will try to be there

Hey guys sorry but i went to bedgebury today, as its forecasted for wind and rain tomorrow which is perfect for my other hobby of kitesurfing.

It was pretty muddy in places but the fast bits of the single track are still ok. Is it just me or am i wrong at laughing at the guys that ride round it with full face helmets on? i mean its ok if they have come from the northshore stuff but it must be horrible with that on, its not just a one off, ive seen a fair few kids now with them on. Also there were plenty of people riding round it the wrong way today, that is if there is a right or wrong way but on the last section thats got the downhill beginning i had to slam the anchors on from going into them.

    Russ
  • yes the last two sections there used to be up hill but they changed it to down hill and if people have not been for a while they go the wrong way....... should be signed a bit better.
