Probably not going to be good for BBH either this Sunday or next. I really need to start getting my priorities right and riding at the weekends more!!!
Even started a pinkbike album! You planing doing Blean at all soon? Should have dried up a bit this week. Ade- think it's about time you did a weekday Blean ride too. Come and keep me company. Blean gets a bit boring on my own as i still get lost so stick to the same route!

BBH is Bluebell Hill near Chatham. Its as close to 'mountain' biking as you'll get in Kent, lots of steep hills and really good fun. I might be up for Sunday Andy but i don't want to commit as its going to be hangover dependent

I'm supposed to be going for a little arse about in the woods of Upnor (near chatham/rochester) on Saturday. Anyone willing to come and arse about on a mini downhill bit and maybe a few jumps then by all means do. Not been around the woods for ages but there are plenty of trails to go off on around the main woods.
I want to do Blean too, but can't get there!

I might be riding at Bedgbrury next Sunday with one of my pub landlords and his mates. He say's it is still very muddy but he loved it a few weeks ago.

Just been looking through the site, and it looks bloody good. How many trails are there, and how long. I might even have a go at the freeride section now i have a bike which i am not expecting to break on every landing! Can't beleave i tried DH on that Halfords piece of crap of an old bike!

    Andy.
  • Papa, what time are you going to go out & for how long ?

I might be up for coming along but the weather is looking grim.

There is an XC loop which i think is about 9 miles long. Its a good combination of twisting singletrack, climbs and a couple of quick downhills. I like it but it was horribly muddy last time i went. I'm looking forward to riding there again soon though :)
  • Well is any one gets out today, good luck !

    Where is the sun !

Mark, Knee has been giving me problems for about a month now, during the SDW ride it was pretty bad. Ive not stopped to rest it at all so ive had to stop and rest it to see if it gets better, if it doesnt then ive got to get it sorted out.

Bedgebury is good when its bone dry and rolls fast, it needs alot alot of work to make it better again. Alot of the sections i do find a bit unchallenging where your just riding through flat woodland and there are no climbs that really get your lungs working. The Freeride section is pretty cool. BBH is far better in my opinion.

i went last week and it was still very muddy, it needs alot of work or at least a week or 2 of pure sun to dry it up.

Well seems my ride isn't going to go ahead after all, don't really fancy doing dodgy jumps in the wet, plus I don't know what it is... But my bike does NOT feel right. BB is new so doubt it's that, reckon my forks could be about to go before I'm ready...

Russ, I facked my knee up a while ago too... Was just riding along and it twisted, put me in agony for ages.
Had to take about 3 weeks off riding pretty much altogether, then took it slow. Luckily it's fine now.

Without me having to read through all 64 pages does anyone have any routes they can post for Bluebell hill? I have Garmin 305 so can download to that if anyone has that format. I live in Ashford and my friend and I are keen to find more routes in kent.

    Thanks in advance!!

Thanx for that, may head over there tuesday morning instead of bedgebury, as it sounds as though it's a bit damp down there. Anyone wanna join us, there'll be three of us so far?
