I'm good for 8am Sunday. Only thing that might stop me is father-in-laws 65th bash  If I give in to a few beers, I'll have to miss out. If I'm not gonna be there I'll txt u a couple of mins before 8am Sunday, but I am gonna try to abstain

The rib seems to be getting better (or I'm getting tougher  ). Did make me go  when I did a bunny-hop the other day, though

lol haha well tomorrow, friday, monday and tuesday i will be up at 05:30 and not getting home from work till 20:30 so i kinda like trying to avoid early starts on the weekend.

    But 08:05 is doable. lol

Actually 08:30 would be better to be honest.

Bugger forgot Nick i was giving you a lift! If you cant do a longer ride then its not a problem we can just finish when everyone else does. The last 2 rides which have both been about 2-3hours ish we have covered around 12miles, i was aiming at covering atleat over 20miles. Im not going to know the exact route or distance till i get home and plan it out on tracklogs.

This is of course if i get my bike back in one piece! it currently has no wheels or tyres, no chain and no cassette which are kinda of a major part of the bike.

20 miles is no problem, its the time that buggers me up (and gets me in trouble  )

Whats wrong with your bike? or just having a strip down?

No Russ that's cool - i'm up for a longer ride :) Was going to do a marathon one tomorrow but think i'll cut it a little short and make Sunday the long one.

So i guess if we have a 2-3 hour loop around, go back near the viewpoint and have a second loop for those that want to carry on that would work well. It's easy for me to say when i don't have to plan it ;);)

Good luck with the bike. I'm off to Downland tonight to get everything need to stop my bike creaking (fingers crossed)!
  • pittpony
    pittpony Posts: 1,057
Also, i think in the previous 2-3 hour rides we've spent a reasonable amount of time either resting or planning where to go so i'd hope we can get a few more miles out of our 2-3 hours this week :)
  • RussAlf
    RussAlf Posts: 706
Ill plan the loop so that we come back to the car park in 2-3hours then the second loop which i plan on going west from the view point to bit of an exploration via a large loop!

Bike is in bits because the rear formula hub and freehub died, so i have a set of Mavic 719s on Hope pro2s and a xt cassette and chain to go on!! Im having a romantic night in tonight with me and my bike.

Hope you're enjoying the romantic night in Russ ;) Had a cracking evening myself with my bottom bracket and a tube of grease   Will see tomorrow whether the creaking has stopped....
  • RussAlf
    RussAlf Posts: 706
I had plenty of grease action also, i find it really helps with slipping things on.

Wheels and everything are on now and working, had to drill a rotor bolt off the of the old hubs also as i was putting the tyres on i realised i had a puncture. Hows the BB?

Tomorrows weather looks ok, looking on a 24hour forecast it looks as if its going to rain over night till about 6am then be dry during the day.
