I know is a bit late notice but does any one fancy Bedgebury Tomorrow early ish (i have a day off) plan on doing 2 laps nonstop ( well ok maybe a few stops :D )

I went today, thinking it might have dried up, how wrong i was. Its still just as wet with thick sloopy mud which you either have to go around making the track wider or slug through. Its heavily eroded with bug ruts and holes everywhere that combined with the thick mud just makes the course so slow. I was planning on doing 2 laps but as the first was so slow due to sluggin away and it being so slippery i got bored.

I rode surrey on monday and my bike was spotless and i had an amazing ride and scared myself silly. Today my bike was covered and i dont think i topped 10mph. Go to surrey or bbh.

Sorry if ive put you off, some parts are still okish.

    Cool,

Im planning to tag along if thats OK? I have helmet, and have just ordered a fenix light.....so should be able to see where I'm going!

Where exactly is the sports ground? Is that just at the top of the Uni hill?

If you look at last weeks ride's on the Kent trails site click on the university sports field link.

Holmbury, Leith or Pitch Hill. There near dorking/westcott in surrey, junction 9 on the M25. It takes me 40mins ish from T wells so it must be fairly the same for you. Leith hill is the highest in the southeast at 1000ft.

This was my ride on monday, if you fancy giving it ago just say and ill email you over some good maps.

I have been avoiding Bedgebury for these exact reasons. I have done the last two Gorrick XC races up in Surrey and its been brilliantly dry as its more sand based. I think there was only 1 spec of mud on the bike after the last one!!
  • Just watched DeadPool2e's videos... Very classy. Like the little run through the woods, seems as though the camera doesn't give off how fast you was going, mine does that too.

Oh and nice crash Aid, couldn't of done it better myself :P

Oh and as for the jumping bit... Try bunnyhopping... You get much better results... But crash harder if you screw it up
Maybe on the next ride we could blaze down past Mutton Wood on the nice n open trail there, then make our way onto the jumpes under the bridge... There's something for everyone there.. Even those who don't jump but like abit of downhill ridge type action.
Then back up the trail up to the Robin Hood pub, which is 2 mins from the view point!

http://gorrick.com/index.php their Spring series. Anyone can turn up and ride around, just dont get in the way of the racers heh. Been mad amounts of other tracks around as well I had meant to check out after the races but the first round I felt so ill and the 2nd one it was so cold there were still iced puddles in the middle of the afternoon and I did the warm up lap with my jeans on!

Cor blimey.. Came home today via BBH.. on my way up my favorite track I was passed by a fellow rider.. Who kinda made me ask myself why I was walking...

We ended up doing the rest of the trail together, picking up a lost rider near the end, who was heading inland but wanted to find the River Medway.. Some people are so bad at giving directions! (Me included, if I don't like the look of the person or their attitude anyway  )

So all in all, a rather random day so far.

And to top it all, it's a Sunday, Mothering Sunday of all days.. And my mums out working.. I spent the whole of half hour making her a card this morning and she's not even gonna be here to get it.. The cheek of it! :P

Yep, tis gonna be a good day.. :D

    Not sure about this weekend?

    Surrey Hills?
    Blean?
    BBH?
    Somewhere new?

Id be willing to show everyone around Surrey if you want? would require a good half a day though.

I'm hoping I can come along, depending on my weekend plans. I'd need a lift from somewhere again though (Ade?, Russ? - sorry to be cheeky) as for the forseeable future i'm going to be without a car :(
