Sorry Russ, my vote goes for A, such a comedy fall as you were obvioulsy about to set off and do great things only to be scuppered by a wayward stump that you just "clipped" Both Ade and Mark hit obstacles they couldn't avoid!

Whats the prize for the winner? An all expenses paid round trip to Ade's new DH section?

At least having spd shoes meant it probably didnt hurt much due to their hard ends. I hit a stump when riding flats with my standard trainers and fck me the pain! Luckily I was only going about 10mph at the time else I would have been off to a&e

BMJ - that's very different to the routes we normally take. Would be good to come along with you one time. It looks quite road based though - is that the case? And what kind of distance do you cover in that loop?

Hmm, what time are yu riding tomorrow?

    P.S. Tadaa - an entirely on-topic thead! ;)

We originally done it when we got a little bored of our normal training route (we did twice a week) - Wanted to see what those woods where like in the north of that map - and they're very pretty! (im not gay or nowt! ) We didnt exaclty explore it, but broke up our ride and added some new scenery.

We've agreed that for our enduro/fitness training we are to up the mileage and not go for the short spurt riding that BBH can often offer.

Its my first ride in AGES, so will be suffering, but gotta start as I mean to go on. The roads will offer a little respite no doubt.

That loop is approx 18/19miles total climbing 1245ft

The connecting roads are mainly narrow country lanes apart from Yelstead lane into Bredhurst - its all downhill that road, so can fly it.

We'll be up into Boxley around 9am(ish), meeting Jon there hopefully.

I can vouche for Deadpool's route. Amazingly fun considering it's so urban.

Have a look at www.impished.co.uk/sketchymtb for my 1st draft of our own little waffle forum.

Have a look, sign-up if you want and we'll see how it goes (be gentle with me, I have done this from work  ). Otherwise we'll just keep filling this one up

On the video crash vote i go for A for being just plain daft and the music is The Primatives - Crash.. which i sing to myself when riding dodgy sections.

B also gets a tick for comedy value... looked painful though..

As for C i have only ridden with Mark once but within 5 minutes witnessd a better one than that...

See you at the lookout in the morning where now i have taken the pee about crashing no doubt i'll have an off at some point...

    Cheers

Legless, how is your girlfriends level of riding, just a bit concerned that some of the ups and downs may be a bit much and end up putting her off, especially as it will be slippery....

Not knocking Nicks route as its all good just alittle concerned...

    Cheers

Im also attempting to get my better half to have a go round BBH - shes a nervous rider, although fit ( ) but scared of anything other than tarmac.

Theres a ladies only skills course going on at Bedge in March, would like to get her onto that to get some skills under her belt. Its fairly cheap if I recall and is 2 days or training/riding.

Will be going out at some point with her, but our usual rides mainly stick to clear, flat pathways - she needs some dirt in her ride!

She is actually a really good rider, we smashed out some seriously long and technical downhills in Devon that scared me and we survived the day at the trail centre with some super steep drops on rocks and stuff like that. Her downside is she works all week and her fitness isn't up to much at the moment, hence why we normally just do weekends together. Plus her time keeping is bloody awful so trying to meet you lot at 9am would be like parting the red sea!

I actually talk her down a bit much maybe, we did a 17 miler at Blean a few weeks back at a very similar pace to last Wednesdays ride. She will throw herself into anything, but might just take a little longer than the rest of us getting to the top or the bottom...

Good point - it can be very slippery there. Not wishing to be sexist but it's not the easiest riding. That said the downhills can be ridden slowly and you certainly don't have to make her ride down those steps!! The climbs are hard, and i say that knowing uphills are my strong suit! There's only one i've found I can't ride up (if you discount the steps going the other way) but there may be a bit of pushing. Its good riding though :)

Sadly an only child, although sometimes I do think of all the inheritance! I'm pretty lucky really, she is a really good kitesurfer too so in the summer we ride on the water and this winter we have been riding the mud. It was actually Mary that got me back into biking, I only rode once this summer and hardly at all before that. So doubly lucky that she reintroduced me really.

Will let you know how we get on, thanks for the warnings and concern, will make sure we don't go too hard. And as for pushing uphills, that's my favorite way to get up them I must be the laziest biker i know. The only reason i pedal up them on Wednesday night is cause i am trying my best to keep up with the others and also running away from the monsters...

Although this Wednesday if the postman sorts his stuff out i will be blinding all monsters in my path!

Going back to the Bike radar live thing, i'd have a go in a team at the enduro... i to have a van so we should be able to ship plenty of bikes..

Legless, i have just got into kiting too, only got a 4.1 twister but i am loving it, no board yet just scudding and the odd jump/lift but hoping to move onto kitesurfing....

Just so people know i am on nights for the rest of the month so i am looking for someone to ride with during the day, i have no problem travelling if it helps..

    Cheers

I've not found that bit. Is it a road climb? Will have to give it a go and will no doubt come back with my tail between my legs

MBNut If you are getting into kiting then you have to check out my magazine, shameless plug i know!

http://www.iksurfmag.com totally free to read and with 12 issues all online at your disposal you should be an excellent armchair kiter by the end of it!

Too cold for kiting for me in the sea at the moment though, i used to ride all winter, but these days just don't feel the need or the urge!

I bet nick flies up it no handed whilst sending a text to one of his many ladies in Canterbury...

Oh hold on - i do know that road - it takes you back up to the lookout right? Erm, yes i did stop once going up there, but i maintain it was just to wait for the others...

Edit: nope, getting confused again. I haven't ridden it but i know the bit you mean. Why would you ride on the roads round that way when you can get offroad so easily?!

Its not a road, its definitly a "track", but very rocky and loose and steep!

If you lose momentum, your screwed - none of us done it, and none of us want to even try again... I lay the guantlet down!

To get there : After youve nailed the steps section, go down to the gate and onto the Pilgrims way - turn RIGHT.

That'll bring you out to bridge over the trainline - bear right to take a path running adjacent to the trainline, then right again.

Will bring you up to the top field again to have another go at the steps as a treat!

Go have a look if you get the chance.

That climb sounds so easy that I don't think I will even bother trying it yawn

A friend just invited me out on a 85km road time trial ride on Sunday. My reply to him was similar to what I got the last time I tried to talk to a woman :D
