fantasy bike shopping is a great pastime, seems to constantly get in the way of my work!

So who went out today then, just got back from an awesome ride in the dark at Blean! The rain had calmed down and it wasn't too bad in terms of mud! Had to fix a puncture on my girlfriends bike though which didn't help the cold hands! Wasn't as cold as it was on wednesday though, it was definitely rain and not snow!

  • You look at evans? Everytime I've compared a price for the thousands of pounds worth of biking stuff I've brought.. They've been more expensive by a mile!

Guys - I think one or some of you have Avid Juicy brakes here, please can someone shed some light on my little (quite possibly very stupid) problem.....

    here...

    http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12598008

    Im seriously stuck for answers.....

Bad news re my brakes - found out my initial spongy front brake is a dodgy/stuck piston. Followed the Avid guide on how to free it, but to no avail. I dont think Im competant enough to strip the caliper down for a rebuild so its going into LBS....

I can now however replace my pads - some proper force is required to get those pads to "click" in - glad I didnt have to do that on a trail.

Had a good pump round the black route at Blean today, got a lot less lost than I did last night!

Legs are feeling it now, was a pretty cracking day though and no rain which was a total bonus!

Mary my GF commented how I was riding much faster, she called it dogger speed as it is obviously from riding with those blokes I went to the woods with last Wednesday, I tried telling her we were biking, she wasn't having any of it.

No doubt come Wednesday I'll be slow and sh!te again!!

Let 2009 bring loads of good rides and chances for mass XC in Kent forum rides (Probably not in Kent) :D

I reckon a mass ride around Surrey would be awesome.. All going well I could get another 6-7 riders together from around here.

I hate it when it starts to get rammed down your throat in Sept/Oct!....

If I was Prime Minister I would ban an xmas related activity until Dec 1st!...

Christmas starts on Dec 24th, ends at the end of the 26th in my book....

Think thats my fault - you were like a Dad to us on our Afan trip, making sure we were all well behaived in the back of the car  Although my REAL Dad damn sure wouldn't have missed 2 toilet stops when he knew i was desperate ;)

I love Christmas - more specifically the Christmas revelry that can be enjoyed at this time of year pretty much guilt free :D

    Yeah, I'll be there Wednesday.

BTW, I will be taking some nails. The nails are for the tyres of the 1st person to mention that expensive, over-comercialised, money-absorbing, hangover-inducing, waste-of-a-day-off event that's happening on th 25th
