His predecessor is further in the past.

I think you mean his successor. But I think it's too soon to tell what will happen there.

Yep, meant to say successor.
You're on a roll 😊

I didn't suggest that did I?
Obviously he was the leader of the union, but he didn't have sole control.
Just think it's funny how much he is built up into a big scarey bogeyman. He was just good at his job even if that caused some annoyance (no more than the endless cancellations for reasons).

Never mind. I should read a thread fully before contributing. 😂
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

You are far from alone on that one 🙂

This seems spot on

Pretty accurate I'd say.
Just trying to make things work a bit better won't cut the mustard. It will get them turfed out for someone who will break everything. Who also won't have a plan for what to do then.

Meh, maybe I just know lots of dull engineers, but I know plenty of people who have been able to sort their lives out post financial crisis...
It feels like a pretty chronically online view that there's a "this is fine" generation.

Quite. How many of his cabinet are boomers? He doesn’t rule alone.

True, our sons are in their early 40s and are well sorted out.

Gentle reminder that this forum is a bit of a well off bubble too

How are you defining 'well off' here?
"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
Googled it for you.
"Well off" is an adjective that means to have enough money to live comfortably and well, or to be in a favorable or fortunate position

That's subjective. I consider myself to be well off yet have an income described as poor by some on here.

If you own a washing machine and it broke, would you need to think about how you could afford to buy a replacement?

I think that is more fair. No I wouldn't.

Interesting that you googled it after I asked, I thought you would already know before you made the statement above.

Hardly a controversial statement was it?

Just interested - different people have different definitions, although the one above is pretty vague.

Most of us have posted enough about our jobs and other factors to make a reasonably accurate guess at salaries. I think it's pretty clear most of us on the right hand side of the median.

Which takes us back to arguing with the original point.
Proof exists showing that is entirely possible to be "fine" today even if you are younger than a Boomer.

Also possible not to be fine if you are a boomer.

They’re all millionaires. I read it on here from someone in their 30s earning a 6 figure salary finding jobs for people in their 30s with 7 figure salaries. I’ve since confronted my parents and asked why they aren’t sharing their massive wealth with me.

I know you are joking but the source for the millionaires claim has been debunked.
It was based on household estate including property so a couple living in a £500k house each with a pension pot of £250k resulted in a conclusion of two millionaires. Complete bollocks.
