Wheels aren’t even on a week and I got complimented on my bike by a woman at the lights, who was on one of those e-scooters.

Literally never had that in 16 years riding road bikes

Hell the watts, this has sold deep sections for me.

    Update on the Edcos.

Bearings on the front wheel rusted to oblivion. Had to be replaced.

Not massively impressed just over a year in. Never needed that for a wheel before.

Blimey, that's somewhat remarkable - much wet weather duty, not that that would excuse it.

    The races are fine?

Not even much wet weather work as I use a different bike in the wet….

Maybe it’s overkill but the new bearings were ceramic and £40 each, so £80 for one wheel, and another £20 for the labour.

It's not unheard of for bearings to go in a year if there isn't much in the way of sealing, especially if you are cleaning with a power washer or sloshing degreaser over them and not regressing.

But if cartridge bearings, it isn't a hard job to change yourself, I bought a bearing drift set from Amazon for about a tenner and does the job nicely. I pack them out with grease when I refit and seem to last much longer then.

Ceramic is a lot of extra expense for no real benefit.

£5er in it between the steels and the DT Swiss ceramics so went for that.

Update: rear bearings also absolutely shot to pieces.

The bearings in the hubs in these wheels are made of cheese, FYI.
