Not feeling very confident about this trip now. You're all faster than me and have better bikes and some degree of skill and now you're all comparing tyres.[:(]

Good man Dave. Is that the Chinese then?

I'm pretty familiar with bits of the Dumfries area but have never been as far as Newton Stewart. I'm sure that between my fantastic driving skills and Saz's excellent map reading ability we'll make it there in plenty of time.[;)]

Saz - Dont worry, you will have a ball. Kirroughtree is similar to the good bits of Dalbeattie, but with more and goes on for ages. The tough bits like McMoab can be bypassed. Your Cinders are just the tyres for KT. Just worry about getting the flapjacks made!

I had suggested an 11am meet at the car park which would probably have meant a start of about 11.30am if everyone turned up on time.

Dont really want to meet at noon, what about a compromise of 11.30am to start at midday?

Oh no. Not 'light showers'. I'd far rather stay at home waiting for my frame to (never) arrive instead of maybe putting a bit of gore-tex on...

Besides, the weather is so changeable at the moment that we've as much chance of getting sunburnt or struck by lighting.

The forecast for saturday has changed since this morning. It's now to rain in the afternoon instead of the morning [;)]
(metcheck.com is a brilliant site for forecasts)

I'll hopefully be at trailbuilding on saturday, followed by a ride on my trusty rockhopper, or I may even take the CroMo for a play about instead [:)]

Its a bit weird but I have always really enjoyed biking in the rain, probably more than when it is sunny. The trails are always empty and I think it is a bigger challenge, especially when it is as wet as it was last night.
