Were you not wearing your pads? I've decided that if you buy pads then dont wear them, you're guarenteed to fall off, its just sods law. I've never hit my pads but managed to get lots of huge colourful bruises all AROUND them!
I'm sure you'll heal in time for KT. Its 2 weeks away. Wouldn't be the same without your sparkling wit.[:(]

Yeah, bad luck, Allan. Hope you manage to recover. It would be a shame to miss Kirroughtree as it has some of the best singletrack in the country. You'd have a ball.

As I look down at my poor knees - which are visably wincing at the prospect of what I'm about to type - can I ask: what's the accomodation situation? (If I come down, I'll probably be able to convince Jamesie to come along too.)

Its looking like an everyone for themself - dont know if hamish and nick stuck with where they had booked, might be worth contacting them and see where they are staying and if there are any other rooms available. If Moray goes down with someone and there are two of you it could be worth booking one of the caravans.

I think most people are heading down on the Saturday morning - its well worth it Allan, KT is outstanding.

GeeTee - Put vasaline on the scabs, keeps them moist and stops them splitting when you bend your knee. And stop being a big girls blouse (doctors orders.....)

It is looking more likely that I'll be there coz I think my missuss is on holiday that weekend so I can pretty much please myself what I do..

Shame you cant make it Rhette, for your trip up here in July - are you biking for more than one day or will it just be a GT visit?

I could try and book an afternoon off work if you are available during that week, we could go somewhere like Innerleithen.

Daveb I'll probably be riding sat & sun the weekend i come up to try and make the most of my trip. So a visit to innerleithen would be great[:)]. We all have a B&B booked for the Saturday night and I will book the Chinese for the Saturday night (MArk has agreed to come along - as long as they sell non chinese food)

I am guessing we should meet up at the car park at about 11am on the Saturday morning, everyone should be able to make it for then.

If anyone else is coming let us know I will add you to the list.

I think it took me about 2 1/2 hrs to get to Newton Stewart from Newtongrange, not sure what route you and Mark will need to take or where you are meeting.

If neither of you know where you are going maybe we should meet on the way, it is pretty easy to find though as you pass the entrance to the forest on te way to Newton Stewart.
