Kirroughtree Trip - June
As some of us are entering the 10@Kirroughtree I thought it might be an idea to have a trip over there before the race.
Anyone fancy a Kirroughtree trip sometime in late June, was thinking about Saturday 23rd June, could book the caravan for the Friday/Saturday if required.

I need to check my dates - I'm way for a long weekend somewhere near the end of June. It might be that weekend but the GF knows. I'll get back to you on that one.

Saz - you must be having a laugh; any group trip to Kirroughtree is as much about stopping to chat and critique each and every corner, berm and rock as it is about mountain biking!

Cazz, you are not slow. I certainly didn't think you were and that was despite your huge milage this week and the fact you'd slept in a tent. We could have a joint effort at slowing the rest of them down though![:D]

I am away on holiday on the 6th july so for me it would need to be 16th or 30 June if the majority are struggling with 23rd.
Either date and i will probably just do the Saturday so someone else can arrange the caravan if it is required.
What about the 16th then - is that more suitable?
LOL - just found out while checkig dates that I cant do the 23rd either as my wife is away in London...DOH

Just wanted to bring this topic back to the fore. [:)]
After an excellent trip to Dalbeattie on saturday, (where the vast majority of us acted our shoe size for a good few hours [:D]), I'm well up for this trip to Kirroughtree which is a venue I've never visited before.
I think Dave and Saz are talking about going down and back in one day, so have e-mailed Mike to see if he wants to be involved in some sort of car sharing plan too. [:p]
Derek.

If nobody else is planning on staying overnight then I'd do the car share as well. I'm happy to drive.
It's better if you can stay overnight though as you can go to Dalbeattie/Mabie/Ae on the way home the next again day. Not to mention that K'tree is a bit of a physical challenge.

Feel I'm past kipping on the floor of a caravan. Are there any slightly more comfortable options, with secure bike storage?

Yeah, I fancy a bit of KT with perhaps Dalbettie, Mabie or Ae on the way back.
Great stuff.

I've stayed in a few B&Bs there before. They're usually about œ30/night and are pretty good. Most are bike friendly as well. If anyone fancies a B&B overnight then give me a shout and I'll look at twin/single rooms. We'd better not leave it too late though.
K'tree with Dalbeattie the next day sounds good to me.

Cool. I dont mind B & B or caravan, as it is about the same price.
What dates were we thinking of in June for the weekend?
