No bicycling for the last 2 weeks for me and my steed.
Been needing the car for work alot, as well as DIY at home.
The latter is almost complete and another scottish excursion is on the cards.

Wrong?! WRONG?! When I do it baby, it's RIGHT!
Time: 36.14.1
Distance: 7.6 miles

AVG: 12.5
Ya know, it's hard to go faster [:(] The traffic's a biznatch in the morning.

On the commuter?
What numbers are we crunching on the coiler, which I assume is what you'll be racing on.

On the coiler (disturbingly) it's very, very, very similar. A little slower due to the lower top speed and takes a bit more energy, but the traffic is the main thing that slows me down.

I have the same problem with the traffic. You just get up to a nice cruising speed then some train spotter will cut you up or you'll hit traffic lights, or traffic queues. [:(]
Still, on the good news front, I should be able to go for a short ridey this afternoon. Nothing too extreme, will mostly take the XTC on the road and see how I feel.

I now have all the required components to mend my drivetrain, fitting will be this weekend, ready for a blast round some local hills.

I tend to cut the cars up. Ride like a wanker and they'll stay away, I find.0

I have just ordered something, I'm not going to tell you what, suffice to say there will be pics eventually.

Training Update:
Total Distance: 6.05 Miles
Total Time: 18:01
Average Speed: 20.1 mph
Max Speed: 33.2 mph
Calories burnt: 472
Avg HR: 169 bpm
Max Hr: 190 bpm
Total ascent 238 ft
Bike: XTC
And then I got a puncture, which couldn't be fixed - rip in the tyre wall, so the Team Car and support crew (AKA the Cakemobile driven by Mrs C.) had to come and collect me.
However, I can ride full bore without too much discomfort now. I rode on friday, but I couldn't wear the heart rate monitor chest strap over my ribs, hence no update details. (was about 10 miles easy riding, in just over an hour).

[scientific Bit]Your maximum heart rate should be 220, minus your age. [/Scientific Bit]
So, using that formula, mine should be 177 (220-43=177). Alex's 'should' be higher than mine as he's a youngster.
My threshold - the rate I can hold for a long time is around the 165 mark and as you can see, I can push it well over my maximum.
That said, it's not how high you can get it that's a measure of your fitness, it's how quickly you can bring it back down to a 'reasonable' level.
