Good to see you chaps aren't just annoyed about bikes (oddly enough) but that it's a catch all thread for general moaning.

Ironically started because the car thread had gone off topic :D

    why the "oddly"?
Although this reads like a pistonheads thread it's actually on bikeradar.

Why don't you meatheads get a personality instead of banging on about your diets?

Are you vegan by any chance? :)
As you may know, I’m vegan. I don’t view it as a lifestyle or a way of life, just a diet. It certainly hasn’t changed my personality, going meat free- I’m just the same bastard.
It does seem, though, that you anti vegan mob have an agenda to shove your meat down my throat. I’m not having it, it’s just not the way I roll. :)

Anyway, back on topic about cars, I’ve heard guys that drive AMGs and M4s, are lacking meat (not in a vegan way).

It seems like you’ve wasted a lot of time (for time poor guys) on this thread and just like the warning says, god it’s dull.

I know now and I'm setting my timer for 8 minutes ;) But if the thread's boring you, don't read it. Easy.

Anyway, each to their own, but it's fair game for a bit of p1ss taking

  • and yet... once we spent an afternoon looking for calf liver... impossible to find. We are bombarded by chefs telling us to use this cut and that... all impossible to find. I bet I could make a good trade as a butcher selling only cuts that supermarkets don't want to sell.

I found you some calves liver

Not anti vegan, anti evangelism, anti smugness, etc. If that's not you it the joke isn't about you.

It’s changing… that was maybe ten years ago, now it has been normalised and it happens that you don’t get to know until you happen to share a meal for some reason.
But then again, it depends on the social setting…

Anyone who has a new "thing" tends to want to bang on about that thing. You see it with neo-cyclists as well, telling old farts like me about this new thing called a "sportive" or disc brakes. Vegans aren't immune.

Not sure if it is just because I live in the middle of nowhere, but one thing that does seem to have diminished is the number of people at your front door trying to offload books about smiling people, flowers and birds and sunshine that god created.

What I mean is that it’s our generation that makes a big thing out of turning vegan, among my students is normal and it’s not worth a conversation about it…

tbf, this thread has generated more activity on this forum than anything else in a long, long while.

if it translatexinto physical activity we could have powered a flotilla of ebikes....

    Couple of Ricktopia questions:
Is there a minimum number of dinner parties a Ricktopian must attend each month?
Do Ricktopian e-bikes come with a wine chiller to keep the Chablis cool whilst ebiking to said dinner parties?

Rick hasn't even posted in this thread, it's just an 8 page circlejerk about how nobody should change how much they drive.

No it's not, most of it is a discussion on whether owning pets has led to a worldwide shortage of offal available to allow people to cook the meal they saw on James Martin's Saturday morning show.

I was feeling under the weather today so I ditched the bike/ebike/bus and took the car instead.

I had to take the cats to the vets this morning. It would have difficult to carry a cat box on an ebike and there’s no bus service that goes near the vets. So I took them in the car.
However should I have just given them to Ugo for lunch.

I'm taking the bambini to he dentist so am using the car as tricky fitting a 16 and 13 year olds into panniers.

Maybe it would be easier/cheaper if I let Ugo eat them?

  • Does nobody remember the shortage of pet food in lockdown because with restaurants being open less animals were being slaughtered so no by-products for pet food
