ELB doing everything possible to avoid being accused of interfering once she pulled off there.

Wiebes bossed that sprint - Vos slightly boxed but never came close to reducing the gap.

Vos' teammate deserves an Xmas card off Weibes, great lead out for the opposition!

The glee with which they revealed Blythe has fallen foul of the same rule was vicious. Also very funny.

Tomorrow's stage looks to offer more promise of a breakaway battle, than a GC one.
Some small climbs, one topped with 10kms to go, but nothing like what's to come over Le Weekend.

A rollercoaster stage with several small climbs scattered along the route. The last of these, on the final circuit around Rosheim, could prove decisive with less than ten kilometres to go. The crossing of the Alsatian winelands won’t be easy and a long breakaway could reward the breakaway specialists at the expense of the sprinters.
    Alaphilippe's missus's take.

    ROSHEIM

    Population: 5,220
Specialities: Ropfkueche, Alsace wines, Alsatian gastronomy.

    The Alsace Wine Route
Known throughout the world for its exceptional itinerary and the simplicity of its route, the Wine Route makes it much easier to discover the region and its winegrowers. It winds from north to south through the hills of the vineyards, over more than 170 kilometres, at the foot of the eastern slopes of the Vosges.
An enchanting route alternates between the undulating patterns of the vines, flower-filled villages with narrow streets and inimitable houses clustered around their bell towers. Visitors can venture into the heart of the vineyards to the top of the slopes along numerous signposted wine trails that invite them to discover the work of the vine and the diversity of the grape varieties. They are welcomed in winstubs and tasting cellars that celebrate the love of wine at all times.

    The Ropfkueche
This Alsatian brioche with nuts and cream is the speciality of Rosheim. Along with Kouglof, Streusel, and Männele, Ropfkueche is another Alsatian leavened speciality. Topped with a lightly caramelised nut mixture, it is still only found in the Rosheim and Obernai region at the beginning of the 21st century.

I really like what they are doing with the finish circuit loops.

More of this at bigger races.

Casual & non cycling fans always come out in larger numbers if there's multiple chances to see the riders.

I’ve got to say the women have taken crashes to a new level in this Tour. The one today reminded me of The Blues Brothers

If you think you're safe from DSs with limited driving skills once the stage has finished, think again.

Looking ahead to tomorrow's Queen stage and the coverage we are getting from French tv.
I don't think we have much chance, if any, of catching the first climb, which I reckon is the hardest. In fact I expect the race to be won on the first two climbs which are only separated by a short descent.

Today it looks like the chancers are going all in before the mountains and the real GC battle arrives.

Mentioned in commentary that Alsace has it’s own stage race.
It’s actually happening at the same time as the TDF Femmes.
Not only that, today’s stage finishes on La Planche de Belle Filles.

Yep, Thomas Gloag currently second on GC after finishing third in yesterday's stage. He was part of a 5 man breakaway that finished a minute ahead of the main group.
