Went in a car-nut friend's electric BMW-something with about 550bhp, for which he's paying about £42-a-month on tax (as a company car), and even though I don't really like cars, and modern cars even less, it was pretty impressive as a bit of kit, I'd have to admit...

There's hope for you yet :)

The novelty had worn off after 30 minutes. My Almera doesn't need to worry.

Well I suppose it was electric. The cure is a full fat car with a proper engine.

Saw this sat in traffic the other day, not a common sight. The owner of the bar it was in thought it was a Lamborghini, his mate knew it wasn't, neither would believe me until I showed them Google images.

Can't remember the number, something like XK220 sticks in my mind?

XJ220 is a rare car indeed. Apparently only one left in the UK.

Indeed, don't think I've seen one on the road before. That's in Ventimiglia, car was on Swedish plates.

    Common as muck

Did a quick google and some website claimed that there was one UK example left - clearly bollox then.

I bet they're a bit wobbly compared to an F40 built around the same time.

    That seems greedy.

Was round the west coast here last week, and there was a visiting group from NSW down here doing a tour obviously. Couple of Lambo's, couple of Fazza's including an SF90 Stradale, a few Porsches and an AMG Merc SUV as the luggage truck/sweeper.

Saw them several times down the road. Bloke in a shiny new four hundred thousand dollar Cayman GT4RS managed to slide off backwards into a ditch, but lucky to just get some dirt up the tailpipe.

Seen a video of my mate driving his at 200mph and it seemed pretty stable, but then again they are known as the specialist in the car and can set them up rather well

I really wanted one when I was a kid and they first came out. Looks quite hideous now!

When you think this was put into production 26 years earlier.

I don’t understand why the owner of the debt doesn’t take the cars to sell and recoup at least some of the debt.

Got back from lunch to find this parked outside the shop. Rather a special thing when built, not just any TV and video in the back. A Betamax 😂

There was a story from an Aston dealer in central London somewhere back in the 80s when the Lagonda was new, and on display in the showroom. Two Sheiks walked in and admired it.

    One said to the salesman:

    “We’ll take two, thank you”

The other one was waving to his assistant loitering somewhere to bring his briefcase over.

    First Sheikh was heard saying:

“No, no. I’ll get these. You bought lunch.”

If we're playing virtual top trumps, I'd go for a Ferrari 296 GTS. Looks good, 800 odd bhp more efficient V6 which they've managed to make sound good, EV mode for Cities and it's got a reasonable sized frunk so you could actually go somewhere with luggage.

The SF90's looks great too, but because off the extra two electric motors in the front you don't get anywhere to put anything. Pretty impressive being EV four wheel drive though.

With regards Porches. I think I'd go for a 992 GT3 Touring, that wing just looks a bit try hard. I bet the turbo in reality is a better car for road use with a more sensible setup, but I'd want that NA singing engine.

    Phfffff...

Turbo for the road, GT3 RS for the track and GT3 for a bit of both I reckon. No doubting the GT3 variants are brilliant driving machines, though like you say the looks are a bit 'marmite'.

If I were getting a Porker, I'd probably get a Singer version of a 911.

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Good call, although TBH the stock version of the GT3 RS or the GT3 would do me just fine :)
