    We not mentioning Pidcock?

    He's a roadie so he's covered on pro-race ;);)
can you give me a summary of what drugs he is alleged to be on
Ketones is what the doperati are getting upset by but they ain't illegal - Ineos certainly use them.
strangely I was joking. Now I barely dare ask what the amateur Austrian lady was on

did she hide in the forest and miss a lap?
The team full of favourites (the Dutch) forgot that she was out in front...so when they won silver, they thought they had won gold.
    that was funny

Flores - Stance: Regular vs Wright - Stance: Goofy.

The true Olympic viewing experience. I have no idea.

All standing on a board based events have riders being either goofy or regular depending on which foot is forward. Regular is left foot forward, goofy right foot forward.
Why don't the judges seem to value tube riding very highly?
That's a step too far on the knowledge!

Just watched a bit of the street skateboarding. To a neutral novice viewer that is exactly as interesting as watching the kids fall off their boards in town.

Some of them were goofy too.

I quite enjoyed the skateboarding B)

as others have said the park skating might look more exciting, with more "air".

High levels of ketones in urine are an indicator of diebetes or kidney disease i think... in cats anyway.

Bikini bottoms compulsory in beach volleyball. Yay or nay?

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-57967486

Personally speaking I’d be more likely to tune in with the bikini bottoms.

If you want soft porn, there are plenty of websites for that.

High levels in a Type 1 Diabetic pretty much means off to hospital, would need to check with the wife as to what those levels are though. Think its about 1% or so....

Volleyball is a sport. Beach Volleyball is entertainment. The reason for its inclusion in the Olympics is the spectacle of watching aesthetically pleasing athletes (male & female) in skimpy beach attire, throwing themselves around on sand. Cover them up by all means…. Then exclude the ‘sport’ from the Olympics.

Can’t wait for the skimpy Lycra knickers next week when the athletics kicks off. You’re only young once, if you’ve got it, flaunt it.

Only if they insist on the men wearing budgie smugglers.
Can't see that having much appeal on here.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Well that’s not fair! How did you allow this to happen? Men should be forced into speedos immediately with no vests and plenty of sun cream.

Sports with pointless clothing rules seem to be some of the worst e.g. tennis and golf.

This whole Russian athletes competing for the Russian Olympic Committee thing is a total sodding farce isn't it?

To the Russian public and Putin's PR people they'll just be competing for Russia (how will Russian TV be displaying their country i wonder?).

And why the ROC banner, surely they were complicit in all the state-backed doping or at least turned a blind eye?

I was under the impression that the ROC excluded the more radioactive of competitors even if they aren't currently banned

What pointless clothing rules does cycling have? There's the sock one, but there was some logic behind that.

In contrast, you need to wear white at Wimbledon and a collar playing golf.

    Poor tonight from the BBC.

A person of the "right sex and colour" fronting the programme without any knowledge of the sport she was commenting on "cross county" mountain biking!!

Then we have Tom Daley's "husband" talking about Tom becoming a "father"

    The country has gone mad.

Why are you putting husband in inverted commas? They're married, he's Tom's husband. One of them is the biological father of Robbie (they chose not to know which).

Alex Scott is a perfectly good presenter who made a minor slip of the tongue. The supposed expert commentator on Pidcock's race made more mistakes.

You should probably watch footage of one of the Games from the 70s or 80s, it will probably be more to your sensibilities.

Alex Scott isn’t the finished article yet. Takes a while to gain the confidence to interact with the studio guests and read the autocue naturally. Possibly better options but Scott is very likeable and I hope she gets there with experience.

Imagine that. Gay people existing. I'm shocked.

I'm quite glad to hear that, I got sick of hearing about someone training as well as being a mother. You don't hear it so often about athletes who are fathers, so well played bbc.

GB Gymnastics Girlies win Team Bronze. Which is rather good by our standards.

The BBC had no coverage of literally any of it

They didn't even have much themselves. The host broadcaster was focussing on US v Russia.

Britain appears to have discovered that having good swimmers (the discipline with 8,000 events) is a good way to up your medal tally.
