    That was a massacre.
    Alaphilippe delivers for the ASO.
Could hold onto the jersey for a long, long time.

Be interesting to see if he can find that magical TT form from 2 years ago. I'm not convinced he can.

Not now he hasn't dammit ...lol
I was wrong. Harder than I thought.

Behind, first 21 riders on ST at 8".
23rd rider at 13" is Richard Carapaz.
From 4, Ineos already down to just Geraint Thomas on stage 1. :D:p

WVA didn't really do his job for Roglic there. Seemed to be hoping someone else would pull it back and give him a shot at the stage.

Most of the big GC guys were okay. Notable losses - Angel Lopez lost 1.59, as did Buchman, Kruijswijk, Richie Porte lost 2.26, Valverde 5.43, TGH not listed yet so possibly even worse.

I'm surprised there weren't a few small gaps in that group. Probably flattened off enough to allow them to just hold on.

I bet that spectator hoping to get on TV is now desperately hoping they didn't.

She's a bloody idiot - she wasn't even looking at the riders.

Just saw the replay on the Breakaway

  • Can you see the moment her arm brakes?

That second one was scary with the little kids in the crash zone.

How unlucky was that spectator and bike on the 2nd crash? The bunch piles up, he starts to move but about 5 riders land on him

The UAE rider got really lucky with the telegraph pole.

I think we'll see a few DNS tomorrow

No contenders per se, but it puts a pretty big dent in Ineos' strategy as that required all 4 to be dangerous enough on GC to need chasing down.

Much as I liked Wiggins as a rider he really gets on my nerves on The Breakaway.

TGH lost close to 6 minutes. Looks like Ineos will be doing the old mountain train, with Carapaz as a wild card. Pity - having 4 guys in contention could have made things interesting.

There are 2 French mums who deserve the Croix de Guerre there.
The one mum grabbed her lad and dived into the ditch.
The other pulled hers just out of the line of fire, so riders had the chubby middle aged biker bloke to soften their impact.
He must be a bit sore mind.

I feel like that level of stupidity should result in criminal prosecutions. If I was riding along at that speed and someone batted me off with a sign, I'd definitely be disgruntled.

According to the Tour website, two riders outside the time cut. Not sure if that includes abandons (eg Sutterlin, for one)
