Two of Scotland's best chances have come when Mount didn't track back with a runner0

Sunny here. Unfortunately I'm listening to STV commentary. It's not neutral.ddraver said:Oh man, is it raining up North. Been Beautiful in Cornwall all day... 😎
Not the classic I was expecting thus far.0 -
Their training methods are very good.MattFalle said:We're gonna win it.
29 unbeaten
81 goals for
7 against
stats like that would have the engerlish jeffing themselves.

The best player on the pitch has just been subbed. Does Southgate know what he's doing?0

No, Foden was the only player looking remotely dangerous.Dorset_Boy said:The best player on the pitch has just been subbed. Does Southgate know what he's doing?

Well played Scotland, that all I can say.0
-
Bit embarrassing for the Scots to be celebrating a 0-0 like that.0
-
Well that was a load of utter sh!te.
No pace, no urgency, no desire to create chances.
Neither side is getting beyond the last 16 unless they improve drastically.0 -
Careful, you'll get the Chasey lecture for saying "no desire"Dorset_Boy said:Well that was a load of utter sh!te.

Scotland seem to have burned themselves out a bit. They will have 15 or 20 more minutes of scurrying then England will set up camp in their half and Grealish will come on, achieve nothing and it will end 0-0.
Scotland's energy lasted longer than predicted but well played that man!First.Aspect said:Scotland seem to have burned themselves out a bit. They will have 15 or 20 more minutes of scurrying then England will set up camp in their half and Grealish will come on, achieve nothing and it will end 0-0.

Well done Scotland, were the better team and put more effort in.
England were terrible, slow, slow, extra touch, pass back.
I think Reece James passed forward once in the entire game and that was in the 88 minute.
No one running past the man with the ball. No one ever trying anything but the safest pass.
Kane was dreadful, he's clearly not match fit. Sterling was dreadful too.0 -
Reality hits home again. England to Scrape past the group stage and go out last 16/quarters. Who cares with that performance.Pinno, מלך אידיוט וחרא מכונאי0

I was left wondering if the ITV commentators were watching the same game.
A detachment from reality of such epic proportions they should gravitate towards a political career.

Foden was magic tonight. He's an absolute star. The problem is that there's no point playing with a number 9 if you are literally never going to try to find him with the ball. Nor Kane's fault, but waste of time him being there if the tactic is just to never cross. Doesn't make a difference if he's replaced by rashford either.0

Good job we have such a fantastic crop of attacking talent, or we'd struggle to score.rick_chasey said:That felt much more like the England of old

He’s so slow he has to look for a foul when he finds himself in a bit of space ‘running’ towards goal to save embarrassment.First.Aspect said:

Not read it but assuming it agrees that teams pick a right footed RB at LB because they are better players (limited pool of left footers) but then discusses how it's not entirely negative - there are plusses as well as minuses - it's different rather than worse.rick_chasey said:
You should probably read it before you comment.TheBigBean said:
Anyone who follows club football for a few years will come across situations where the choice is whether to play an experienced player out of position or bring in some kid from the reserves. I understand this balancing act, but was surprised anyone would think of it as a good tactical move and write an article about it rather than an act of desperation which is more likely to be the case.kingstongraham said:I'd expect its because in those teams, the second best right back is considered better down the left than the best left back is.
Fwiw, I think that's very rarely actually true.
You’ve already got the wrong end of the stick twice.
And with both Shaw and Chiswell in the squad putting Trippier there isn’t desperation clearly.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -
I'm gonna disagree Pross - given the mismatch in the squads that's a moral victory even if it's only 1 point.Pross said:Bit embarrassing for the Scots to be celebrating a 0-0 like that.
