His less than stellar performance on the bike in 'Superstars' in 2012 suggests otherwise. I think he was beaten uphill by the 'mountain goat' that is Anthony Joshua.RichN95. said:ddraver said:It's more that the cyclists just rock up and pull out these super fast times innit?
As in They've got no specific running training or skill but still post mega times
Are they mega times though? Others have said they are decent club times. Put Mo Farah on a bike and he'll knock out a good quality 10 mile TT time.0 -
Pogb-er goes on a magnificent solo run and is clean through on goal, but is called on to pass it back into midfield.RichN95. said:Who's on penalties boss?
Ronaldo, Rashford and Fernandes are all on penalties. The pitch will decide.3 -
What’s going on with Deceuninck ?
Going to co-sponsor Alpecin Fenix next year , DQS become Lotto QS?

It is Soudal, not Lotto, who join Quickstep (in '23).Mad_Malx said:What’s going on with Deceuninck ?

To me it is still a mystery how Lefevre found a budget for extending both Alaphilippe and Evenepoel, however.0 -

That video is truly cringe.0

Interesting that the CN article suggest one of the factors in Deceuninck moving is that the Roodhooft brothers can offer a women's team while Lefevre has said he has no interest.
The trend definitely seems to be for a sponsor to back both these days...0 -
But he's been around for a little longer. In the past they were never able to maintain two top tier riders for such a period (not even counting Asgreen).andyp said:

Maybe they think this tactic will help them attract high profile sponsors.0 -
Public companies (like Deceuninck) need to disclose ESG information every year and things like gender equality get picked up in that.dish_dash said:Interesting that the CN article suggest one of the factors in Deceuninck moving is that the Roodhooft brothers can offer a women's team while Lefevre has said he has no interest.

It would be a stretch to say that sponsoring a womens sports team can be incorporated into your own gender equality employment stats.
But I agree it looks good, if the above stats are bad.0 -
The Roodhooft women's team, Pura-Plantur, is basically a way of them getting a road race calendar for their cyclocross roster. Maybe they'll invest more in it now, but as they already have those riders under contract for the winter, it's nothing more than a training vehicle.dish_dash said:Interesting that the CN article suggest one of the factors in Deceuninck moving is that the Roodhooft brothers can offer a women's team while Lefevre has said he has no interest.

Hopefully Deceuninck will press for more focus to be placed on it and for the team to recruit some top tier road riders.

Ineos no longer using Castelli, the later saying they'll announce their new team on 01/01 to respect contract.
Wonder who they'll use?0 -
Turns out they're going to Bioracer. Kit revealed tomorrow.0

teams have flirted with Bioracer for a while. Any of those speedsuits that had the vertical lines on them were Bioracer. Froome, Dumoulin, Wiggins all used them

Yes awesome news I agree - and yes I would live him to also, but I wonder if he will get selected, no guarantees, but that would be a magical way to cap off a phenomenal career blighted with illness in the latter stages.50x11 said:
Great news I would love him to get the record.daniel_b said:Cav has extended for one more year with Quickstep.
Hopefully if he did get selected and not as the defacto main sprinter, he could lead out for the chosen sprinter, and then be given a couple of chances along the way.
We live in hope.
A quick scan would suggest 7 sprint stages, 3 quite early on in proceedings.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

Sounds like Jumbo-Visma are really giving their classics team a boost. Be interesting if they can improve their results with it...
I wonder if the issue with DSM is that they just don't pay very much but demand a lot...0 -
DSM sound like they're so focused on the "team" that riders use them to get up the curve to bag a contract elsewhere. Sort of like KPMG grad schemes.2
